    Question Damage reduction/survival virtues ?

    Greetings,

    I've been out of the game for more than a year and perhaps more and a lot has changed stats-wise. I'm trying to get a set of virtues which will be the best for damage reduction and survivability. I only play solo most of the time and slowly leveling so don't count any raid or big grouping part.

    I was thinking about physical mit, tactical mit, armour and resitance to be as tough as possible.

    That would gives : Innocence, Compassion, Charity, Zeal, Honour, Tolerance, Fidelity, Confidence, Mercy, Empathy and Honesty.

    Which ones would be the best ?

    Thank you very much !

    Tolerance, honor, fidelity, zeal,Valor

    Thats what I use on mine, although I built him for the moors mostly. Tactical mitigation and plus morale are excellent survival virtues. You can try other things of course but I think you will find a lot of people tell you tact mitigation. That said everything could change with RoR, prep to grind regardless.

    Valor and Zeal are a must. Fidelity is nice as most things are tactical now and it gives extra vitality as well. Tolerance is nice as it negates in-coming tactical as well and provides a solid amount of agility. Innocence is always good all around for defense.

    But why is physical mit not so important ? While leveling to 75 (ro to 85 later), are not mobs hitting you in melee doing more physical mit ? It's often for the melee panic part that i'm trying to harder my skin. Is there more monsters in the landscape hitting with tactical more than i suspect ?

    yeah most still hit with common so compassion and innocence are good friends there as well as emphaty, u'll want to swap to tolerance and fidelity for more tactical when running instances

    anyway landscape questing shouldn't really be a challenge that requires specifical traiting

    Well, it usually went good but in a multi mobs situation i tend to overstress. So the more i can take the better i can get my nerves control back lol !

    I come from playing a Captain most of the time so i'm still not used to being fragile when surrounded.

    There is quite a bit of misinformation in this thread. while tactical mits are great for pvpers and raiders, for casual soloers its almost worthless, you'll run into far far more physical damage from landscape mobs then tactical.

    Valour is only good if you need morale, it provides absolutely nothing else, the other stats on it are &&&&, and empty morale provides no secondary benefits (mitigations and/or BPE). Valour is probably THE most over rated virtue there is.

    What would you suggest me then ? All the physical mit ones and the armour ? Does armour counts for a lot ?

    Quick question : how many ranks there is for virtues at the moment ? rank 12 or 14 max ?

    I found 2 sources :

    Lorebook says 12 --> http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Virtues

    This wiki says 14 --> http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Virtues

    Don't forget determination.

    I build all my toons with fidelity/tolerance/zeal/valour/class specific stat trait. So for hunter, determination for the agil.

    zeal for sure is the best defensive one >> valour, then determination because it gives highest amount of agility and some added morale, innocence and/or compassion, charity, empathy (among these last four pick whatever u have higher)

    if u find u have less and less will from gear (common if u start to gear with lvl 65+stuff) u might also reserve one spot for out-of-combat power regeneration, mercy would be the best but it's hard to have it high, charity gives some, u could use one with much will like wisdom if u have it high

    For solo play: Zeal, Compassion, Innocence, Charity, Determination.

    Instances/Raids: Tolerance, Fidelity, Honour, Compassion + choice.

    In situations where you will be face to face with mobs you want to maximize phys mit. In situations where you will have somebody tanking for you generally you want to maximize tact mit.

    Hmm.. after reading this thread it looks like I need to visit a bard to switch out a couple of virtues. I just returned from hiatus and didn't know about some of these changes.
