Meh, I was fine with him dying. The Numenoreans had become complete jerks anyway.

I always wanted Turin and Beleg's small realm (Dor-Cuarthol) to end up becoming this bastion of hope for the Free Peoples, truly feared by Morgoth. But alas, nothing ever went right in CoH

I sort of wish Oropher had been less proud of his Elves' abilities and methods and followed orders properly.

Túrin... just... Everything Túrin ever does ever.

Also, I wish a lot of stuff had gone differently for Maedhros and Fingon.

Oh good point Feanor no doubt was a fire sign too, and tried to solo a company of Balrogs, I wonder if the whole of the silmarilion can be explained by astrology.

I doubt it's even incest at that point... Doubt.

Elrond would be Aragorn's greatn uncle.
Little late to the party here, but I just thought I'd point out that, statistically, everyone on Earth is at least 50th cousins of eachother.

    The more you know...

    Citation?

That sounds really unlikely to me.

Well think of it this way. You have two parents, four grandparents, eight great-grandparents, 16 great-great-grandparents, etc.

Eventually you get to a point where you have more ancestors than the population of the Earth, so everyone must be related. I'm not sure if it's 50th cousins exactly but it's somewhere around there.

This video explains it better than I could

But yeah, we're deviating from the topic slightly

so much to say but that would take too long

so I'll pick just two. Theoden was an old man. He had recently lost his son. He had been delivered from a living death and his body remembered it's former strength. He had been reconciled to his sisterson and heir and knew his kingdom was to pass into worthy hands and dying in battle while performing feats of arms is considered glorious in his warrior culture, so while we might feel Middle-earth is a lesser place for his having departed he was not sad to have ended that way.
As for Gandalf not running, when he realizes he is lost his last words to the fellowship; "Fly, you fools." seems like a classic case of "Take my advice. I'm not using it."
