    The New Farmers Faire

    By: Lauren “Budgeford” Salk

    What is this “Farmers Faire?”

The Farmers Faire is a seasonal festival mixed with a Farmers Market and it celebrates the bountiful late-summer harvest in the Shire.
    I'm excited.

Bounder Boffin seems to have bad luck with his job as a keeper of the peace. The Black Rider he encountered on the road not too long ago was a piece of cake compared with the trials of maintaining order at the Farmers Faire. Many hobbits have had too much to drink, and must be reprimanded before their behavior gets out of hand. (This may resemble a certain Lothlórien quest…) After being reprimanded for their bad behavior, some hobbits (probably lacking judgment after having too much to drink) want to wreak revenge on Bounders who told them off.

It was supposed to start yesterday, iirc, but the calendar is still marking it as tentative, the new start now is on the 19th.

It's supposed to start tomorrow. Depending on what time zone you're in, the Calender will say it's starting on a different day than it actually is.

Well, I just travelled to Bywater where, according to the official article about the farmer's faire, the event is supposed to take place but it seems it still hasn't started, yet. *nail biting*

I second this impatience. Old Fin certainly has stamina, but his stories always have holes so big you could fly a green dragon right through the middle of them. Stop cooking your third or fourth breakfast, hobbits, and serve me up a fancy Faire!

    Faire

I too am waiting for this Faire, as it will be my first festival I've attended, and I'm curious to see what goes on.

    From facebook:

"Due to some last minute issues we will be delaying the start of the Farmers Faire until July 26. We will also be extending it one week so that you won't be missing out on any of the fun! We apologize for the inconvenience."

Now because of this delay, the Summer Festival will be pushed back even more. It's gonna get to the point where we will be doing the Summer festival well into September this keeps up.

I think they should fire up the treasure hunt as compensation....

Good call. I support this 100%. I'd much rather have something be delayed and done right, than released all buggy and half-arsedly.

But the Hobbits will be going hungry.. please, think of the Hobbits!

    Hmm, lets see.

One quest is a revamp of the Loth quest I hate with a passion. And it sounds like I might have to defend myself from drunken hobbits as part of it. No thanks.

One quest sounds like a mess, stealing mushrooms as tons of other players are trying to steal the same mushrooms. Pass.

Fishing, well isn't that coming up in the summer festival?

The mayor one, I will have to see, hope no one can use forced emotes where it takes place.

Why no actual farming during this festival? Or quests actually helping farmers?

Yes! We totally do! And I would love to see them work the music system into a festival. I think that would be neat.

If the Farmers Faire is late-summer, what's the Summer Festival?

Summer is officially from June 20, 2012 to September 21, 2012

Farmers Faire is from July 26 (was the 19th) through approx Aug 12th

Summer Festival is slated to start Aug. 15th through Sept. 2nd

So it's all within the official summer dates even if they push the Summer Festival a week so it isn't back to back with the Farmers Faire.

I strongly suspect that the hobbits went and ate all the pie for the faire and that's why it's delayed in the first place .

Actually, all te hobbits are busy running around picking up all the weapons that are flying out of peoples hands and cleaning them up so they can resell them at the faire.
