Is it just me or did that look like a burning embers being thrown whilst on the move at around 50 seconds in?

That would be "Enduring embers" as in:
    http://www.lotro.com/gameinfo/2222-r...mounted-combat

Just don't know why the LM skill is the only one without the Discipline bonus listed...
Maybe it is still not decided upon?

Hmmm....interesting....I hadnt read that part.....it IS indeed odd why ours is the only skill without any variation with Disciplines....

Nice to see the RoR page is updated...nice video too

I find it funny the LM is the only one who does not have 4 skills listed..just the one
Probably not updated it fully yet i assume.

Good to know we get a burning embers-esque skill i like burning embers...would love to see lightning storm or sticky gourd as an option for (only because i like them lots) haha.

It also appeared that the LM uses Sign of Power: Righteousness (about 42 sec in).

I was skeptical, but that looks great! The riding animations even look more accurate now, notice early in the video one rider comes to a stop with 3 others, his horse slows down to a stop, not the insta-stop we have now.

As long as I can use mounted combat early on that will be great, I would hate to have to grind for it and get the skill as I finish the zone.

Mounted Combat will be available to everyone, regardless of subscription. So it's my guess that it will work similar to how LIs were introduced with Moria or Skirmishes with Mirkwood.

    Meaning through the Epic Line.

    Mmmm .

The description of Enduring Embers make me wonder if they're going to change the skill the same way while not mounted .

They've stated as much, actually. Free Players will only be able to unlock one of the Discipline trees, though I don't think they've said which one. (My gut says probably Red Dawn.)

It looks very good, unfortunately I think it may not be for me. As a disabled player I have control issues and can't even manage to kite. My characters stand and endure while relying on Movement Assist, not maneuver and kite around the battlefield. I think that may put this beyond me as it seems to have been developed around speed and maneuverability.

I've never quite gotten the hang of kiting, either, and I was worried about how well I'd do at mounted combat. Watching the livestream tonight from MMORPG did little to assauge my fears. It is fast and requires a lot of maneuvering, where you approach mobs, and, like in a joust, pass them by only to wheel about to attack again. All the while, you're having to launch your attacks and control your horse's attacks.

I really think I'm not going to be very good at it. I plan on trying to find a group, so I can remain in a more support capacity until I can practice enough to go solo.

    So, "Enduring Embers"......

    http://www.lotro.com/gameinfo/2222-r...mounted-combat

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed LM's were the only non-Disipline class on the list. I'd like to think Turbine is saving the best class for last (as all my fellow LM's will surly attest to) but it could just as easily be them overlooking us...... yet again.

    Fingers crossed!!!!!!

I'd love to know how the various new tree's Riddermark,Rohirrim and Red Dawn change Enduring Embers ...

And I'll especially be keeping on an eye on the healing and support Tree ...as finally perhaps we can become really good healers.

Although it does look like us Light Armor Classes got the short end again ...the variations of the Ministels 'Call' skill under the 3 trees are almost the same ! XD

Has anyone seen or read anything about our pets? Since they aren't available now while we're mounted are they going to be available during mounted combat? Would be nice to have the Eagle or spirit pets available in combat.

That was my thought also. It's gonna be a bit tough on a LM or a Captain to lose a central part of their power and class just because they're forced to ride a horse.

I also noticed no sign of an LM's combat pet in that video which makes me wonder...

Wouldn't it be mega-epic-coolness if, since we are the undisputed masters of animal pets, we got a unique combat skill out of our steed? Something that is only because the LM and his steed are super attuned to each other and make the warsteed a tad like our combat pets are?

Loved the video. Can't decide if the thrill of mounted combat was doing it or the fantastic music but I spent almost the entire time with goosebumps.

I think our war steeds will be our pets as they have damaging skills much like our own pets. I really want to be able to use our own pets so I can heal from flanks but I don't know how they will incorporate that. Perhaps thats why they haven't released full details. At least thats what I hope

If i remember correctly, they talked about pets and heralds during the livestream and they said that LM's and Capt's pets wont be available during mounted combat.
