rarely have circle 1v1's, but had a good spar with a warden named illydros once he retraited. Shame that cappy jumped in with oathies cause we had gone for quite a while. you were getting me close, just like I got you close a few times, I coulda pulled an npc or someone's pet for feast and shelobs, but liked the fight we were having without it. I believe between the self heals on both sides we could have gone all day. I stopped once I got oathies on me, at below half health, was hoping you'd stop too so I could deal with the cappy. fortunately I was able to get him back for jumping in.

brings me to a question, if a fight would go forever, how do you stop it to save time, given there is no way to communicate and neither player wants to give the other the kill?

Couple good ones there Afluk, it's refreshing to see a creep actually limit his CD's/skills to make things more competitive.

    Great fights everyone, thank you!

To the reavers that blow all their CD's - lol.

I've found that Afluk is very good about that. He likes challenging fights. I have to tip my hat to him in respect for his play style.

There have been occasions in spars where I have used an attack skill too early (like before a reaver has gotten Charge off), I've accidentally used a skill that I don't use in spars, a spar has been interfered with, or I don't want to go for a kill shot. In such situations, I've found that jumping, turning my facing away from the player and stop attacking is a good way of signaling to the other player that I'd like to stop the spar or go for a restart. It works better than 90% of the time.

P.S. Lots of fun spars yesterday (I can't remember all the names). Thanks!

Everything, including brand to remove my slows.

The sad fact is that reavers are in an extremely good spot and there is no need to blow any CD, even reslience. Pots (stun/root) are the exception. The point is, not enough players seem to be able to take full advantage of the capabilities of a reaver and seem to use the crutch of CD's to be "better".

resilence is more than a animation cutter speaking of 1vs1 i think most of reavers are using this as animation cutter even aginst good dps burg

I think the confusion here is between doing more with less, and simply approaching a fight from the more standard point of view of not using 'I win' buttons. A reaver might choose not to Impale/DS against a hunter who isn't doing silly levels of kiting and would probably still have the advantage. On the other hand, fighting that same hunter without DC/Impale, and not using resilience would mean having to be much more careful in their timing of slows, their speed and choices in hitting stun/root/fear pots, and wound applications. One is being 'fair', the other is doing more with less, and I think this was Rubi's point.

Definitely a good one. I had just died for literally the 20th time in a row without a kill so I was in no mood to wait for a warg shrouded in the trees to stealth and maybe or maybe not actually fight (though in retrospect I know you aren't someone to just stealth and leave). I was really happy that fight went the way it did though.

I'm the type of warg whether or not im jumped by a freep, or i jump a freep, i always stay to the bloody end of it. if it's interfered with, I may try and leave if i can. and yes good fight, both got points too and was close.

im talking about resilience i dont use ds\impale at all in 1v1s unless its like a warden or some random healing air head.

when considering what is/isn't a CD it's important to differentiate between rotational skills and CD's. Do you use it more than once in a fight? [y/n] is it a 1m or greater CD? [y/n] does it provide benefit/buff or multiple benefit/buffs? [y/n] is your class in a position where you can probably operate without it? [y/n]. circle where applicable, of course.

Bingo. It's not a matter of whether its a CD, it's whether it gives you an overwhelming advantage.

aye, I tried turning and disengaging to indicate they stop, but they both stayed on me, cappy was thurdinar or some such name. I could understand if he was watching and popped a skill via misclick, but him chasing me around with the warden on me too was no accident, I am just wondering whether the warden was in on it too, I hope not, I mean we had been fighting a while...

    Belolth is spider hard?

is that relevant in this thread? No I don't find spider hard, but it can be complex, to get optimal rotation down while you're balancing ranged skills vs melee skills with CC and debuffs, and your venom system based on whether you want to get a venom skill on cooldown so you can re-use it or maintain max venom because you need to apply dots at max venom, as well as deciding in the moment you get an opportunity to cc/debuff whether it's worth giving up range to do so, and whether you should risk your range for a resist chance on an essential debuff based on what you're fighting, what buff's debuffs it has up, and how much venom you have to lower the resist chance when the opportunity comes for these decisions. there is also good pet management, correct kiting, timing cc to prevent essential opposing skills, such as shadows bite on power draining lm's. healing mini's etc, managing nearby npc's life meters for shelobs/feast, and keeping count of your dot tics, for example, 3 second intervals on them with skills that reset the count and make for unoptimal dot tics unless you take the awkward 3 second rate into account. and not resetting your dots with weaker ones after you use a venom skill while you're rebuilding venom, optimal use of the envenom skill, and maintaining ensnare on more than 1 target so that if you need to you have something you can switch to for envenom. all while balancing your life vs their life and whether you can abandon the dot tick count as they get low for more initial damage on hits as you try to spike them. there is a lot more too but this should be enough

so basically, no spider isn't hard, at least not for me, but it is complex if you want to go beyond just tapping your skills when they are up, there is a wealth more that you can squeeze out of the class than just button mashing if you choose to. as i've told you, it's like any class, there's a basic level, and a level of depth beyond that basic level. which a person chooses to use is up to them. this is the last time i'm answering this question from you.
