    Re: Edoras and Helms Deep?

I am almost certain that we will get Rohan next... I think we will enter Rohan through either Fangorn or the Westfold in one of the next free updates before we will get a Rohan expansion that will lead up to the battle of Helm's Deep and then back to phasing-Isengard.

The video sure looks aweseome... I love how they handeled the backflashes to Gandalf/Saruman/Grima.

I also think Orthanc looks great... it comes very close to what I came up drawing in my mind reading the passage in the books.

There is a lot to complain about LotRO and this expansion... the artwork/landscape, for me, is not. And it seems as if the story will get me into Middle.Earth too

PS: the camera move and what we see at 2:07 sure looks epic to me.

    PPS:

    SOme other great videos:

I think that they will add the southern westfold south of the gap in the next official content update. Maybe like 2 books from now.(South of the gap is Helm's deep.) As for Edoras I think that may come when we start to head towards Dunharrow.

Was great to see them talking about building orthanc and the care and accuracy they put into it. Not to mention seeing orthanc flooded was pritty awesome as well (wonder how that will work out with current roi quests and epic books etc)

no there will be Grima Wormtongue sessionplay

I think there is a reason to call t7 craft as Westfold. I'm sure Westfold (with Helm's Deep) will be next region added in 2012.

With the hobbit movies ramping up next fall into their December 2012/2013 releases, my money is on gladden and east. WB is the distributor for the film, and the owner of this game. It would be bad business not to co-market. Synergy between assets makes more money.

I suspect 2012 Gladen/N. Mirkwood with (including major themes of the books and movies as tie-ins) a 2013-ish lonely mountain and dale release. Depending on exactly where Peter Jackson makes the split. Though if he breaks it in Goblin town the northern arc may sit til 2013, as the sites in the Hobbit up to that point are in game.

I agree fully. They will tie the expansion in with the hobbit movie releases in order to get more people to play LOTRO.

"You've seen the movie, now come walk through the very same places with The Lord Of The Rings:Online."

Plus with everyone waiting for Rohan (well except me, I'm not really bothered atm) they will hold off as long as possible to keep people around.
So many people would leave if they released Rohan right now and it was poor.

it sounded more like: playing as grima but being in the presence of gandalf as a prisoner

i don't think we'll ever play one of the major characters in session play

When (not if ) the eventually do Edoras I very much hope it will be much more epic than that hovel Jackson had in the movies.
Heck, even Bree looks better than that.

Though my money is on the regions in the Hobbit too. Latest new region kinda supports that assumption.

    Re: Edoras and Helms Deep?

Fairly sure we are going to get:

2013: Western Rohan and the Battle of Helm's Deep.
2014: Paths of the Dead and Southern Gondor
2015: Minas Tirth and the Great battle
    2016: Minas Morgal / Ithilien
    2017: The Gates of Mordor

But like everyone else that does not work at Turbine just my guess
I wonder what IS behind that waterfall?
    The Player Council knows!
