I just finished an hour of collecting cram and ale. Saw only 2 other players, so competing for nodes was not an issue.
After an hour, had only enough to barter for ten bounder's bags. Was earning 4x as much during Farmer's Faire. And that was already really slow.

Well I used to be a farmer and I made my livin' good,
I had a little stretch of land along the Bindbole Wood.
But times went by, and though I tried, the money wasn't there,
and the Bounders came and took my land, and told me "fair is fair".

I looked for every kind of job, the answer always no.
"Hire you now," they'd always laugh, "we just let twenty go!"
The Mayor there, he promised me a measly little sum,
but I've got too much pride to end up just a Waymeet bum.

Then I thought; there's no jobs left, this may well be a sign,
I'm gonna be a PIRATE on the river Brandywiiinnnneee~.

    And it's a heave-ho, high-ho, coming through the reeds
Stealing Star, Old Toby and all the other weeds
    And it's a ho-hey, high-hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Frogmorton's mighty shores.
    Arr!

Well you'd think the local farmers would know that I'm at large,
but just the other day I found an unprotected barge.
I snuck up right behind them and they were none the wiser:
I rammed their ship and sank it, and I stole their fertilizer.

A bridge outside of Stock, it spans a mighty river!
Farmers cross in so much fear their stomachs are a-quiver.
'Cause they know that Paddy Jack is waiting in the bay,
I'll jump the bridge and knock them cold and sail off with their hay!

    And it's a heave-ho, high-ho, coming through the reeds
Stealing Star, Old Toby and all the other weeds
    And it's a ho-hey, high-hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Frogmorton's mighty shores.
    Arr!

Well Shirriff Hob he chased me, he was always at my throat.
He followed on the shoreline 'cause he didn't own a boat,
But the cutbacks were a-coming and the Shirriff lost his job.
So now he's sailing with me and we call him Salty Hob!

A swinging sword, a skull-and-bones, and folks that entertain,
I never pay my income tax and screw the Bounder's Thain!
Sailing up to Evendim, the terror of the sea,
if you wanna reach Tyl Ruinen, boy, you gotta get by me!

    And it's a heave-ho, high-ho, coming through the reeds
Stealing Star, Old Toby and all the other weeds
    And it's a ho-hey, high-hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Frogmorton's mighty shores.
    Arr!

    Well the pirate life's appealing but you don't just find it here;
I heard that down in Rohan there's a band of buccaneers.
They roam the great Anduin from the Rauros to Rushgore,
and you're bound to lose your Warsteed if go too far offshore!

Well winter is a-coming and a chill is in the breeze.
My pirate days are over once the river starts to freeze.
I'll be back in springtime, until then I'll be gone,
I hear there's lots of plundering down south in Eryn Vorn.

    And it's a heave-ho, high-ho, coming through the reeds
Stealing Star, Old Toby and all the other weeds
    And it's a ho-hey, high-hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Frogmorton's mighty shores.

This is fastastic! I don't think I'll ever pass Frogmorton again without thinking of it's "mighty shores". Excellent adaptation!

Ye got Ale and Cram but there be no mention of Pie? No wonder there be no tales of Hobbit Seafarers!
Today is a good day for Pie.

Cheers. I just thought there was something very endearing about a little Hobbit pirate ship with its crew going around stealing pipeweed.

Good thing about the bounder bags is now players will be collecting all the barrels and waterlogged crates. Better chance of a waterlogged chest to turn up. And there are sometimes black captain hats in those.

Well this quest is just another total waste of time and still once again no bounder bags to speak of, I ran this for 3 hours and got maybe 100 bounder tokens. Also just how do they thing anyone under 30th level will be able to run this. I had to waste a mitril coin just to turn the quest in to do the turn in's. I found all the cosmetics in one round big deal it was all bound junk straight to the vender it went.

Oh the horror of having to use 1 petty mithril coin....

Can anyone confirm there are black/dyeable cosmetics? I only got the standard non-dyeable ones so far (lv25/35/45).

A few years ago (this was long before Mithril coins) I ran this on a level 17 character. Low level characters can swim up the river - as long as they stick to the very middle they will be fine.

The ale and crams are acct-bound, if you have shared storage a higher lvl can collect them and pass to whichever char wants the rewards, as long as he manages to talk to the npc's one time to finish the original quest.
Don't forget, the rewards include Bounder's bags, I just grabbed 18 of them.
Also, in the last 45 minutes, 3 "Waterlogged LOCKER"s showed up, instead of crates or kegs, got 2 free 1st Mates hats and a Deckhand's hat & patch.

The only dye accepting versions come from the store and have since F2P was launched. Most people don't realize there's a difference up front. ; It greatly annoys me that the dye-capabilities of the two versions aren't identical.
