    Relics

    Hi there,

I'm curious what most wardens are using for their various LI's (settings)?

    Raid level, PVP , etc.

    Thank you

    Re: Relics

The forums have a nifty thing called "search". A "search" on the word 'relic' for example on the warden subforum will return results such as these:

    http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...ighlight=relic

    http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...ighlight=relic

    Enjoy!

    Re: Relics

    Thank you both.

And yes I have done some searches, and perhaps I should have stipulated a bit clearer. I am just about to hit 65 on my warden, got a few 65 first ages, ready to go. However being new to the class, and not involved in beta, nor tracking any of the upcoming changes to the class, I was hoping to get a more contemporary view on what relics to slot and aim for.

The number of well-geared wardens I tend to inspect seem to have a diverse range in the settings they seem to slot.

Ranging from high incoming healing to none..etc etc.

to which crafted relics... noticed some wardens using ranged crafted relics, while others use the melee crafted battle relics...

Any current advice would be appreciated.

    Re: Relics

The relics you'd put in would vary by function. Not much has changed over the last couple months, but will be changing soon.

First off, I supposed ranged relics might make sense for PvP... if you don't plan on being in melee range, which would suggest you hang out in a large group and plink plink away, throwing in the occasional ambush. This , to me, is no way to play.

Generally, I see 2 sets of relics,

1 for solo/PvP - high offense, high morale.
T6 Gold Setting of Precision - +230 Maximum Morale, +650 all offense ratings
Extraordinary Gem of Hope +260 Critical Defence +230 Morale +210 Power
(I use this on both, the crit defense is welcome anywhere. If I were a solo player and not PvP, I'd use a different gem, one with some offensive bonus.)
True Rune of the Two Trees +180 Morale +160 Power +90 in-Combat Power Regen

1 for tanking - icpr, incoming healing, melee/tact/crit defense.
    I use the store relic,
True Setting of Continuance +250 Morale +126 in-combat Power Regen +1300 Inc. Heal
(this is where my build is weak - icpr and incoming healing)

There's this one too: +650 Melee Defence Rating +114 in-Combat Power Regen +20 Vit
Swapping in melee defense for incoming healing. I get my melee def from shield, pocket, and virtues, though and value incoming healing more here.

Extraordinary Gem of Hope +260 Critical Defence +230 Morale +210 Power
Crit defense is hard to come by. I get it where I can. Right now, I don't see a point in adding block or evade, as they are pretty easily capped using just shield mastery. With the update, I'll revisit adding more avoidances.

I know it's the same, but I really do value the icpr and raw morale/power for the rune slot. I might add the parry bonus, down the road, but for now, sticking with icpr/morale/power here.

As for crafted relics, I'm now using the +100 morale on my tanking weapon, and crafted symbol of battle on solo/pvp. When RoI hits, and the removal of the stat cap and raising of avoidance caps, things will be different.

I don't think they've introduced new crafted relics either for tier 7

Hopefully its on their to-do list

    Re: Relics

Depending on your play style, choose the relics that are best suited for that style. If you want to tank go for relics that gives you morale and reduces the damage you take. If you want to dps get relics that increases your dps etc. People have different relics because everyone plays the class differently. The two examples i have given for tank and dps are just simplified. Look at your char, if your lacking in something plug it with a relic. Do you lack power, morale, inc heal, might, vit etc. Its sad at 65 you still dont know what relics you want but i guess your warden is an alt. Since ROI is coming out less than 2 weeks better to wait because there are some(maybe 1) t7 that are a must.

Can you elaborate Pro ? Last I heard, most of the T7 relics were just "eh" for us ?

    Settings-
    (T6) True Setting of Continuance
    +250 max morale
    +126 ICPR
    +1300 Inc healing

    (T7) Remarkable Setting of Stability
-5% Item Wear Chance on Hit
    +280 Block,Parry and Evade
    +1400 Inc healing

The t6 for me is better because the +100 inc healing and +280 BPE is less noticeable than more morale and ICPR. I say this because currently my inc heal and BPE can be capped easily. Yes i know the cap will be increased for ROI but am confident i can get near the cap with skills with ease.

    Gem-
Emerald of the Verdant Glen (Old T9, Cannot be made any more and still the best for tanking)
    +1500 inc healing
    +520 Tact Def
    +102 ICPR

    (T6) Extraordinary Gem of Hope
    +260 crit def
    +230 max morale
    +210 max power

    (T7) Remarkable Gem of Hope
    +280 crit def
    +263 max morale
    +243 max power

T7 is a small upgrade but still a upgrade

    Rune-
Subtle Rune of the Crags (Old T9, Cannot be made any more and still the best for tanking)
    +200 max morale
    +150 max power
    +250 melle crit def

No T7 rune comes close to this

    Conclusion
Remarkable Gem of Hope looks like a must have simply because most wardens currently have the t6 version but in ROI we dont really know how useful raw morale and power will be. Maybe stats will be the new trend

    Re: Relics

Thanks all, lots of helpful information.

As to Protoss...sad? Boggle...not 65 yet, so the final tier of settings aren't even open to my warden yet. So now seems to be the ideal time for me to decide which relics to aim for, and to start farming shards for the extraordinaries...

With the level cap increase in 11 days, I'd save your shards fot the t7 remarkables. They are a smidge better than the t6 extraordinaries.

    Good luck.

    Re: Relics

I think come RoI, for a tanking build I will probably try and get the partial mitigation relics in so that I can "absorb" partials.

But as for now, as stated before, build your LI to compliment your build.
If you are tanking get crit defence / melee defence / morale etc
If you are doing DPS stick some offensive relics in

I tend to agree. For leveling, the T6 relics are plenty good, generally.

    Re: Relics

Not to mention that until we get to do some real testing with the Raid (and instances once the finally get added) it will be hard to say where you are best off putting your hard earned money (or shards/relics as the case may be). Will it be a large morale pool? Avoidances? Mitigations? Will our ICPR be so lacking that we have to max it out via relics? Personally going to wait till I have seen how the changes will really affect us and do some testing to decide which relic combination to go with.
