    PvP Advice

Im just starting to do the Moors and some PvP. The biggest problem I have is getting off my first Spear hit. I run a decent rotation but can never tell when I have my Spear in the first Gambit slot. Trying to run around and hit Gambits isnt as easy as standing still. All to often I dont think I have it so I hit it again and then I have 2 and cant hit my Gambit.

Just wondered if anyone had some tips.

I wanted to come into this thread to tell you to use the search function, but that's a question I haven't heard before. Fallarden just wants to pimp his video, and although it's a cool video it doesn't help your problem.

Practice a little bit in PvE, moving around and still trying to land Gambits. I have my Gambit panel up in the middle of my screen (not down by my skills) so I can quickly see if the spear has been added or not. Aside from that it's just practice. As you said it's almost a different game from just standing still, no real surefire method aside from practice.

i'd offer more help, but most of it is straight forward, once you got the trait line it's all easy from there.

try using masteries whenever possible because those will always trigger regardless if in range or not

practice in pve land by running through the mobs and landing one attack at each pass. build gambits primarily via masteries on the move.

practice is the best way to improve your skills in the moors, learn to build and execute gambits while in constant motion and you will be slaughtering those ezmoder wargpacks in no time

I've found it useful to have my gambit builder screen (ha whatever it's called) close to the middle of the screen where your target is be located...that way it's very easy to see if one of your builders has landed ;D

    Re: PvP Advice

I use the keyboard (1,2,3) for gambit starters and masteries from the skill slots with my mouse, I position the gambit panel to the upper left of the skill buttons, so to see it, but have it out of the way. Your timing and range will get better depending on if your auto running, circle strafing or whatever, then I usually go off of the combat sounds each spear/shield/yell to time my mastery clicks. Once you hear the contact of the first hit you swivel and build.

Alternatively, most of my rotations in pve used to be off melee hit-master-mastery=gambit, in the moors you can start building from, range attack, mastery-mastery, melee hit=gambit. You can build Wardens triumph/Unnerving strike/ Desolation in your first rotation only using a single melee hit for each gambit, and starting it from a range attack running in. It takes some time to rethink building backwards if thats what you were used to like I was but it helps.

    Re: PvP Advice

I think I have a decent setup. I run all Gambits from the keyboard. I use a RAT Cyborg Mouse with the Ctrl Key bound to the right thumb. I hit one for Spear then Press the thumb button the 5-2 for WT. The Grids you see are only used to help me remember my Gambits. I can also look and see what Gambits are possible if they arent on CD.

My DPS Rotation requires the Spear be hit first each time and thats my problem. Maybe I do need to run them Backwards and put in my Mastries first. The Yellow Grid is my Current DPS Rotation.

That's two WTs in a quite short time, masteries should be on cooldown, am I right ?

My melee rotation is WT-US-MB-(Onslaught or WoS (if against reaver/warg))-Filler.
Depending on the time left until WT masteries are up, the filler can be PA, The Boot (+ CS/WoF if stun procs) or Deft Strike (if I'm lazy -- could be useful in RoI though). There is usually no filler if I pull off WoS instead of Onslaught.

Well I found that I can do WT sp-fi sh-sp fi on my way in then US sp-sh fi-sp sh. That leaves sh-fi and fi-sh. Not sure how to fit them in but with running around and some spear throws it does work better.

You can build Desolation [Fi Sh] Fi [Sh Fi] for an AoE DoT, along with a fear. And it doesn't require being in melee to build. I understand it does wonders for a raid. I'm no PvPer myself, but I've seen several posts extolling the virtues of Desolation against Creep raids.

Desolation kills Bard's Arrows and Minstrel fears. In my opinion it's not worth giving up spear traits.

I usually ambush, if its 1v1 and I have the upper hand, critical strike,5,4,3(sometimes WT instead of a 3 gambit bleed) bleeds in redline.I usually get the three bleeds off and crit a bleed off my 1a spear before they shake off the knock down. Throw in a WT in your rotation. Put up shield masteries and rinse and repeat bleeds. Throw in your javs and hold wof until they turn their back to you. If they jump you first throw shield piercer and hampering and put up shield masteries and start from there. Desolation is awesome if you are solo and running in and out of creep raids when the freeps attack...watch the renown come in.

The Videos show one of the biggest things is running with the keyboard instead of the mouse. I like watching you back up while throwing Javlins. Hitting with Hampering Javlin then kiting backwards while throwing just does so much. Then Hititng WT while you run through then turn and repeat really is awsome. Im going to have to work on that some how.

What would be the role of a Warden in the Ettenmoors, Tank/Offtank? Damage dealer? Raid healer?

In my experience you're the guy the war speech minnies hide behind to get renown and KBs while claiming they dont need to heal people who arent in their group.
