Kids! Let's all take a moment and reflect on the grebo scene. This was an underrated and obscure English genre that fell under the post punk radar because Seattle sound and Nirvana were hitting at the time. The bands and fans went more electro and folded into the rave scene. But I found a good deal of angst, intelligence and talent in it at the time as a skate rat, so it's worth a second look in my book ( if not revival).

We'll start with the most popular song probably:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZA2371iADS0

PWEI from the 80's around same time as Beastie Boys' Licensed to Ill :

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bf7G7WsxL7g

Then my personal favorite Carter USM very politically and socially outspoken:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzXkiDog0bo

On reflection this was also during the resurgence of acid in the suburbs along with Industrial music like Revolting Cocks, Ministry etc.. Shortly after synthetic drugs Extacy , Nitrous, MMC became popular and the music went fully electronic. While creative in it's own way,it lost that punk anti authoritarian edge in my opinion. The Prodigy and Chemical Brothers among others were very heavily influenced and made a type of resurgence of it though.

LOL I'm wasted & never went to college, I should write for Rolling Stone. Too bad print media is a dinosaur stuck in a tar pit.

More Slayer...now for the reality of everyday life. "Not suitable" for people that are not perceptive of their surroundings...
This is a tribute to all who shed their shackles and take life into their own hands. This is a call to all who have found themselves enslaved...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEHXD...eature=related

Map around to see whats what, where the tears of caused puddles.... usually around TR I pop this one on. (video has images from iraq, yes it was like that.)

Then the dailies are done I go find the groups and kill and die. I listen to this.... (longest video ever played on MTV)

Bathory is great backround music for any session, bit dated now though....

This song takes me back to a time when freavers were first introduced to ettenmoors; when some greenies were asking in OOC how to get to Bree silly, silly chaos!

Greetings. maggots! It's been a long time. Allow me to reassert myself. I know this is cheesey. But this cheese speaks for a lot of us. This is a tender shout-out to all of those who love to be entertained. This band's early cheese is mother's milk to millions, even though they were voted the worst band by Mtv a few times. I can only liken this music to a good Conan novel. Feel free to enjoy. I know I do.

Alan did some incredible research in the 1930s and there's some amazing down to earth music there. Take a look, skim it, you'll never hear this stuff on the pop radio.

time for a bump, especially hearing about the passing of Levon Helm (the band). Most of you don't know his music so take a listen to this youtube live video of "the night they drove old dixie down"

Awesome song Koo-yon! The Last Waltz is one of my favorites. This music is before my time, but it's timeless. Such can be said about all good music. Here are my 3 favorites from this DVD. Enjoy, maggots!

Greetings, maggots! Downing some brews and grilling a bird all day has allowed me to figure out my favorite SRV tunes. These examples are live renditions. I like the studio stuff, but hearing it live sends a clear message of what the artist is feeling at the time. Also you get to see, visually, just how awesome this guy is at his trade. The first link is a double feature...

Classic rock is what I wish to hear atm. This first one appeals to me, probably, because I am Roman Catholic. Something about the organ...Enjoy, maggots!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mb3iPP-tHdA

Whenever I hear this song I think of Hueys hugging the forest canopies taking small-arms fire with motes of signal smoke swirling about, and door-gunners saving the day.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InRDF_0lfHk

Sticking with the Stones, I find that this song, which is old to me, has staying power. How many jacked-up mothers are out there that this song pertains to? Jacked is jacked no matter your generation. Enjoy!

I wish to hear a mix between classic rock and Motown, maggots! Let it be. I know it's kinda sappy, but you can't deny the power within these songs. Enjoy!

Back to metal, now. This band hovers on the brink of superstardom. For some reason they never crossed the line for me. Here are 3 songs from them that would win me over if I had a hand in their success. Enjoy!
