    Eglain reputation faction

I am leveling my Warden in my EU account through the Lone-Lands and I am about to reach Kindred standing with the Eglian but still there is a very anoying problem. Except of tasks and crafting quests which award you with a very small amount of reputation the main way to gain reputation with the Eglain is doing the Garth Agarwen instances which are realy painfull and in order to attempt them you must be with a fellowship which is not always posible. This is realy anoying since I have to spend lots of time asking in the LFF for a fellowship to do the Garth Agarwen instances and sometimes nobody is willing to get inside this hell. So I am asking Turbine to make some reputation items for the Eglain faction as well which are going to be Rhudaur items looted by killing Hillmen in Garth Agarwen.

I completed Eglain on six characters without ever setting foot in these instances. All I did was a few crafting items and the other quests. Plus some kill reputation. I lost out on most most of my kill reputation because I did Lonelands before the faction was added. There were no tasks available more me.

Unless you were like me. Level 60-65 characters when the faction arrived. I do not get why it is necessary to do those instances.

    Re: Eglain reputation faction

Apart from a couple of crafting quests, I had to do hardly any extra work to gain kindred with the Eglain, apart from just leveling in the Lone-Lands. Between the kills, rep items, and tasks, it was an absolute breeze. Almost too easy, to be honest.

I had to go back to the zone to earn faction after I had out-leveled it. It was a pain, but not too difficult to accomplish with crafting. I also ran the Weathertop skirmish once daily. I imagine that it's much easier to get kindred when starting out at a low level and doing all the quests + daily tasks. I only wish I could have completed tasks at the higher level. That would've made it so much easier.

    I did this as well.

I did the crafting turn-ins for rep, and the Weathertop skirm on my characters, as well as the normal questing / killing. While I don't feel that added rep drop items are really necessary, adding rep to more of the quests in the zone wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Nor, imo, would allowing people who have out-leveled the taskboards to do the tasks * for rep only * ( no xp from the task after the mobs have turned grey ) be such a terrible idea. All of the board tasks should be made simple kill missions, xx number of mobs, no drops involved. Farming greys, after all is pretty mindless and boring. This should also be limited to x number of tasks per day, no extra slots / resets from the store. ( not just in LL for Eglain rep, but game wide. )

Rep isn't supposed to be something that you gain without making * some * kind of effort, after all.

I wasn't aware the Weathertop skirmish gave rep but that's good to know. I too am past the optimal time when working with the Eglain will give me rep by doing the quests, so guess I will be skirmishing for awhile.

The Weathertop Skirmish gives rep because you are killing Orcs and Undead in the Lone Lands, some of whom are Elites. I don't believe the skirm gives you rep by itself, but I could be wrong about that.

The GA items that you get when you turn in Eglain Tokens are very good gear on-level, and could last you right into your early 40s. It's well-worth doing the GA instances when you're in your early to mid 30s.

The main problem I have with this region is that there are a lot of questing areas that are crawling with elites. Once you acquire your Eglain Tokens, it's often nigh impossible to turn them in without a high-level acting as an escort, or riding in and summoning you with the mustering horn.

Yes, it does. It gives 700 rep just for doing the skirmish itself. It didn't originally, but it was added this year. Likewise, Tuckburough gives Mathom House rep, Ford of Bruinen gives Rivendell rep, and some other skirmishes give rep with various factions.

It's 700 rep per daily run, iirc. I'm not sure when they started it, but Gondamon gives TH rep, Tuckborough gives Shire rep, all of them give rep for their respective locales now, I believe.

( lol...I had to go answer the door in the middle of my post, and whheydt got his post in while i was away...8P )

This is something Turbine been working on steadily providing at least one Skirmish for each faction. IIRC - With the release of Update 2 - The two Endewaith and the Forochel faction are the only ones without a Skirmish to support them.

If I'm not mistaken, you only get the 700 rep once daily. If you run the skirmish again the same day you don't get more rep, at least this has been my experience. I believe the reset occurs at 3 am EST every day, same as all other daily quest and task resets.

Yeah, the rep is like the major xp awarded the first time you do it for the day.
Subsequent trips thru on the same day reward you with marks, but not the xp or rep.
Sorry if I gave anyone the wrong impression in my earlier post.

I agree, added rep loot items would be nice. It has been in the neighborhood of 3 years since I quested in the Lonelands on my main, and now having to repeatedly purchase a recipe to make leather bindings, not to mention the farming for sturdy hides, is getting very old. Decent rep from doing GA instances I suppose, but that's much easier for me, being level 65, than it is for some. Men of Bree, Mathom Society, Thorin's Hall, Rangers of Esteldin, Elves of Rivendell, Wardens of Annuminas, Lossoth of Forochel, and Council of the North all have rep items. Why not Eglain??

Reputation items are a discontinued feature. They are only applicable to the factions implemented in 2008 or earlier. The last two factions with reputation items were the Iron Garrison Guards and Miners that came with the Moria Expansion in Fall 2008.

All Factions after that date - Lothlorien, Mirkwood, Eglain, Grey Company, Algraig, Ale Association, Inn League do not have reputation items. The primary reason is storage clutter. People like me started raising the roof about 3 reputation items for each faction. Plus all the coins like Moria, Rift and Annuminas. Turbine stopped with the reputation items. Kept it up with Lothlorien, Mirkwood, OD, festival, birthday and other barter coins.

Farming sturdy hides is trivially easy if you're reasonably high level. Go kill aurochs in Kingsfell.
