    Re: linux users unite?

Been a linux fanatic for about a decade, but I'm sad to say that I play from a windoze machine. My work provides a windows laptop, even though I only use it to launch putty and login to linux servers, so I just play on it. I started with linux with RedHat 5.0 and have used more distributions than I could even list. I'm glad to hear that wine has matured to the point that it can handle lotro. I'd be more glad for a native client, but I'm not holding my breath.

I got pylotro to run and can login, but after it starts it just crashes to the Desktop. Have some more tweaking to do..

Edit: Got it working with a few tweaks using winetricks. Its up and running now!

Interesting. Is there a noticable difference in performace between running it on either Windows or Linux?

The framerate loss is alot less than i expected. It runs extremely smooth. I usually have around 60fps average on my windows build and it goes down to around 55fps on the linux box.

The only thing thats noticiably worse is the lack of DX10 or DX11.

    Question Re: linux users unite?

While I don't play on Crickhollow, I got my lotro install to run yesterday, only today it does not run for some reason. Quite stumped, I hit 'login' on PyLotRO and the box comes up and it says ***Finished*** Ran perfect the day before. Any ideas? I installed a few xorg-edgers librarys to get it to work, and it worked after reboot, but not today... any help would be greatly appreciated!
