LOL I don't think we should get a pet though. I'd end up accidently shooting it with rain of arrows, and I don't want a herald either. That's why I don't like captains. During skirmishes, they have like 400 pets. Their skirmish soldier, their herald, their banner, and all that other not-so-good stuff.

Re: Countdown since last "Pet's for Hunters Thread"

Why would anyone ask for another hunter pet.

Hunters already have a pet, and it's called 'Lure Trap'.
It has the "Ally of Player" under it's name, and when clicked on, it opens a pet menu. On that menu it has the option to dismiss pet.

I didn't say it was a good pet (I've seen pet rocks that have more impact), but there ya go, we have one already.

Thanks for that info! I have a feeling maybe half of the hunters on this forum (myself included) have never seen that before.

That's how useful our repertoire of traps are.

5 years and we get this request every 3 or 4 months. May Gaia wish them back to WoW.

Hell I was one of those people once. Till I realized how ###### pets were in LOTRO. Now I know the error of my ways and carry on with a smile and slight joy in my eyes of knowing that Gaia hates a Monkey.

hmmm.. way too old and mature for WoW :P but thanks for the generalization. You sound like you know a lot about that game ... kettle meet pot :P

Some of you younger folk obviously haven't played many mmorpgs .. might be you were in diapers back then.. but some other games have had pets for their hunter classes and it was implemented exceedingly well. Now, if the argument and disdain is because there is a lack of faith that Turbine could do it correctly.. well, man up and say that

Of course there is. I don't want pets for precisely that reason. Just look at current pets we have (lm, captain, skirmish soldiers). It is terrible. I think turbine is satisfied with current form of AI companions so don't expect any updates in that for next 2 years.

Also in the end this is a LOTRO game, I don't remember Legolas having a pet. And Turbine says hunter is inspired by him. I'm not big rp/lore guy, just saying.

RK's aren't exactly a part of the Tolkien "lore" either .. but they're in the game.

The point is that there shouldn't be.... just like there shouldn't be any hunter pets. Just because they got one part wrong doesn't mean they should get both wrong.

Might as well use this, because suddenly I want a pet for my Hunter. Random Wednesday morning whims and such.

Considering how old WoW is and the average gamer is now 30+? Yeah many mature and inmature players have played WoW. I played it for a 5 day trial and that was about it. When I felt like it was a Saturday Morning Cartoon I stopped playing and came back to LOTRO.

As much as we want to get rid of the RK. They won't get rid of it. I find the RK fun to play but will always love playing my Hunter. Let the RK have it's pet rock. I'll take my Bow anyday.
