Thanks for the pics/info! +rep!
Only had one toon that was able to do them and was wondering what the rewards were...not terribly impressed so I think I'll be skipping this portion of the game Maybe if my one toon was a hobbit...course I could always start another alt....AHHHH

Those are absolutely adorable-- I guess I'll have to do tasks now! Thanks for posting pictures, I've been looking forward to seeing them.
Thanks for the info and pics.
So no cloaks for the first 2 deeds, up and comer and go getter? If so that sucks, 300 tasks, about 48 days, to get the first cloak.
Are all the deeds 100 tasks each?
And does anyone know what happened to the store bought daily increases? I click the button and get an error in the store like it doesn't exist. I was wondering what he price is but I guess they removed it.

yeah I don't see myself grinding tasks, I find myself useally just checking the task board to see if I can convert any trash I've picked up after a questing run into additional XP
Well -- the task mechanic is becoming more clear to me after a couple of days of playing around with them. Sharing my thoughts:
First and foremost -- they are designed as supplemental XP designed mostly for F2P players. This helps to smooth the curve for folks who haven't invested a lot or haven't purchased the quest packs. For that purpose, I can see some value.
Second -- mechanically, they are like mini quests: instead of turning your vendor loot into coin, you can convert it into XP. I haven't explored them at a large range of levels -- but the normal daily 5 task limit seems to equate to ABOUT 2 quests worth of XP. A level 40 task for a level 40 toon was a smidge over 1,000 XP. For a F2P player in a zone w/o quests you'd have a small daily, bite sized piece of XP to do.
For a player WITH the quest content, if you are looking for XP, you have better options available. Example: skirimishes now become available at level 20. There are two basic skirmishes -- between about level 20 and level 35 the XP for doing those dailies is VASTLY disproportionate. The skirmishes scale, but the XP is set significantly higher and doesn't scale. Recommendation: go the skirmish route for XP for lower levels, and then quest for higher levels.
Third -- and most disturbing (unfortunately). Built into the heart of the task mechanic is a store driven mechanism for resetting your daily task limit. This is very flawed -- for several main reasons: 1) the reset daily limit is ridiculously overpriced. 50 TP gets you ONE reset token. saving the points for a quest pack would be far more lucrative and worthwhile in the long run. It may be flawed from a players perspective (very inefficient use of points) but any spend points now philosophy seems to be driving the store and the content in the game. Recommendation: save your points for more worthwhile (read: not temporary) or even TP netting purchases (waiting for quest packs to go on sale even better!). Further, you are converting one resource (trash loot) which is turned into coin normally, into another XP to some degree. If you go the task route, you may be short in game coin, and may be short TP points if you are buying resets.
Conclusion: if you aren't interested in the coin from trash loot. Completing the daily allotment of tasks has its limit XP supplemental use. Otherwise, its really only an alternative XP generation method mostly designed for F2P players. Certainly NOT a good use of turbine points for daily reset tokens.
So you hit 100 tasks and it rewarded you with all 5 deeds at once?
If it is a bug I hope they don't fix it before I reach 100.
And to the rather lengthy post above, you forgot about the 300 REP per task in many areas. I have a VIP account but I am doing the tasks mostly for the easy rep. If an area doesn't give rep for tasks, I find one that does. Angmar didn't give me rep at 42-43, so I moved to Misty Mountains and am getting 300 Thorins Hall rep per task. I just farm extra mobs while doing the regular quests in an area.
I am also doing the tasks to work towards the task deeds and associated rewards

Hobbiton tasks give no rep of any kind. The last four I did also didn't give me any xp either -- I got nothing.
As a level 1 burglar, Bilbo got a pony when he joined the Smaug The Dragon raid. Then he asked for leadership, looted the chest, assigned himself the 1st age Arkenstone and mailed it to an alt (Bilbo's a VIP so can mail from anywhere). They did some PvMP and an Epic Battle, then he apologized and gave the Arkenstone back. He kept the pony.
They all should give some XP, perhaps you leveled past them? Or are you sure you weren't at the daily limit and not turning in anything?
I always check the board to see what is needed but I don't take the tasks until I have the items, that way if i do level beyond them, I can do different tasks and not waste the daily limit.
This page is very useful, and seems to be gaining info daily. You can see there that many more give rep then don't. I don't really understand why they don't ALL give rep.

My opinion of the Task System.
The exp reward is too low. At level 18-22 I would receive barely more than the exp gained from killing a blue mob. (138 xp on turn-in vs 124 xp for killing a blue mob). I would recommend that the experience given as a reward be tripled/quadrupled.
You lose far too much coin for not selling the trash loot as compared to turning it in. For subscribers, you cannot afford to pay for your skills or equipment improvements using this method. I would recommend that the task reward also include about 25-50% of the vendor value of those loot items. I'm cool with giving up some coin in exchange for reputation, but the current cost is too high.
The cost of resetting your Daily Task Limit is far too high in the Store. Instead of 50 TP, this should be just 10. Paying 50 TP for a whopping 138 exp is ridiculous. Your money would be better spent paying 25 TP for an item that doubles your experience gain for an hour.
The reputation given for the rewards is the only area I feel is spot on.
Is this system more valuable at higher levels (40+)? That I do not know. But if it is, then the lower levels need to be corrected so they are more balanced.
Like many things, this is a feature that I felt was rushed out to give something, but not really thought about to make sure it was implemented fairly or properly.
The only problem I have with these tasks is it makes my hoarding tendencies go into overdrive and I find myself walking around with piles of junk instead of selling them because I MIGHT find the task that uses them haha
GL DLR ASTO MRVVAOK? KPXD PREOG...
Thanks for those pictures. I was very curious what they looked like. And thanks for the link to the lorebook task guide. I'm sure it'll come in very handy.
Tasks are going to be VERY situational, depending upon the player and even what said player wants at any given time. I'm on a new server leveling up a hunter alongside a friend. On those characters we've both found trying to manage quests and trying to vendor (or not vendor) loot to be far too much trouble to mess with when we have a bunch of tasks in our logs. But I have a low level female hobbit guardian that would look great in the cloaks. So I think it'll be well worth the effort when I'm leveling her.
I do want to give Turbine a big Thumbs Up for the way they added the cloak rewards. The post one of the Turbine reps made before the tasks went live wasn't very clear. It made it sound like low level tasks, which high level characters would be locked out of, would offer such cloaks. This method is well thought out as it allows us all to work towards the cloaks should we wish to no matter the level of tasks we do.
But I do have to deduct several points from my opinion of the system because of Turbines overly enthusiastic commercialism. Every single bloody time we reach our daily task limit we get a window "suggesting" we go to the turbine store and spend money to increase the number of tasks we can do per day. Really Turbine? Really? I can see doing this the first time to let us know such an option is offered. But I've gotten that box three days in a row now. I already find it annoying. By the 34th time I'm sure I'll be having fond daydreams of setting fire to the LOTRO store. Do you really think the more you annoy people the more money they will give you? I hate to burst your bubble but at least for me it has the exact opposite effect.
awwww dangit >< now I *gotta* do the tasks! LOL thanks :P
hazado are these cloaks BOE or BOA?
I'm glad there is a way to help out those folks who need the boost. I don't need it I just wish that now that they've provided this extra boost that they would un-revise the zones they've changed (Ered Luin, Chetwood, the Old Forest, Breeland, the Barrow Downs and the Lonelands) back to the way they were once upon a time. I loved the challenge of olden days and now that the have-to-be-max-level-now-now-now folks have a way to get there now-now-now, throw a bone to those of us who like a fun, challenging, early game!
Just wish there was a way for higher levels to get in on it as well, if only to get the cloaks...
Why bother? They'll be in the store next week.
Thanks for the pictures and the information.
I just hope there will be a way for level-capped players to be able to do those deeds soon enough.
Restricting deeds/rewards to a particular range is not really fun for the ones not able to participate in.
