    Brand new LotRO player

    Hi there

I'm a brand new LotRO player (or will be soon). I'm into "lite" roleplaying, that is, playing in character in the game, and am wanting to play with mature, helpful players. Would it be better to start on Crickhollow, a brand new server where everyone is all starting from scratch, and where I'll be more likely to get a good name, but may not be very well populated and may not end up being RP-friendlyor go to an established rp-friendly server (Landroval) but where everyone is already high level, and I may not be able to get a good name?

There's nothing to stop you trying both approaches simultaneously. The early parts of the game don't take up a great deal of time, but should give you enough exposure to the server population and the RP feel to help you make your decision.

A good idea is to find out which global chat channels are operating on your server(s) so you can join in and get to know what's happening in the broader game world. The default regional chat channels won't do this.

    Welcome to LOTRO!

Regarding your questions, it really depends on the type of experience you want to have. Do you want to join an established community on a high population server? Then you'll probably want to go to Landroval. Do you want to have the experience of leveling up with everyone on a new server? Then you should go to Crickhollow.

According to the forums, it looks like Crickhollow will have a good role-playing community, but it's not established yet.

Thank you for the warm welcome! I think I've found my answer, and soon there will be a hobbit named "Blisgo" enjoying living in Middle Earth on the Crickhollow server
