Re: One Thread to rule them all

I can see it happening that folk more inclined to roll Hobbits would come here and those enjoying Elves would go there. Not to say that's right or wrong... I think the "race associated" names are causing that to happen.

Re: One Thread to rule them all

Guess what? It never occurred to me that it could be possible to have an Elf friendly rp server
    AND a Hobbit friendly one.

Re: One Thread to rule them all

I wonder if it might in one way be beneficial.. what I'm thinking is that I've heard many people say they want to try rp'ing but aren't "experienced" or feel they lack the required lore knowledge and so on. I wonder if the "focus" for rp was sort of on different races on different servers if that might lessen some of that feeling for people? Each person might feel that certain races are easier to role-play than others and gravitate towards those servers. In turn that might eventually build stronger rp bases on more servers as people start out where they are comfortable and through positive, confidence-building experiences the whole rp community grows.
The downside that I see is the potential for people to view it as a separation; thinking that if they are a Crickit for example they HAVE to roll a hobbit to rp. That would be sad.
I don't know, just my two cents.... or perhaps looking at the length of my post a dime's worth

The only detriment would be that rp gets spread thin. But I am not going there.

Yes, that's a very good point. I wonder though if more opportunities to rp in a variety of "styles" would mean that more people would be interested, thus actually increasing the number of active rp'ers? I'm not sure.

To be honest I couldn't care less what server gained "Unofficial Roleplaying Server" status. I plan on becoming a Crickit, roleplaying or not.

I wonder just how big the new patch/expansion is. Im guessing 1.5 gigs. That would be somewhere about 2 to 3 hours for me. I will be at a large city bidding on cars to stock my dealership until about mid afternoon, so wont get in to the game until 4 ish central. Nobody better take my Dazzl Dewberry while Im gone!

Oh, I certainly hope no one would do that... you ARE Dazzl after all, can't see why someone would want to be someone they're not
Tomorrow is the first day of school so it will be after all the little hobbits in my class go home that I will rush home to my comfy hole in the ground to download the patch and see if I can't grab Cricket.

Re: One Thread to rule them all

I'm coming! I'm going to do a family of hobbit girls, orphaned when their parents died in a tragic pub fire. Like the other hobbits who perished, they saw no reason to leave their ales, just because it was getting a bit warm inside.

The girls and their non-hobbit friends will, of course, make their home in the Shire. I plan on creating everyone at once, so they can have good names, and leveling them together for the crafting. It's not like there's going to be level 65 folks around happy to get rid of their lowbie mats, so it's going to be do it yourself, and I'm finding the idea more and more attractive.

The whole do it yourself thing will fit in well with the hobbits' back story, and I only have to come up with a reason they have six non-hobbits living with them. I wish we could have one house per racial area. This sort of thing gets awkward. Any help?
Always brush your feet before you leave the house.

Well, for me this morning, the forums are molasses slow. I hit a topic and may get a blank "done" screen or sit here waiting for a load that lasts maybe 30 seconds. Probably too many people on the forums.

    Otherwise its a bland day.

Dazzl is doing nicely! She has been in poverty so long! this fresh air and hard work is paying off. Days of mining in th e Bogs has allowed her to get enough coin for a good fresh outfit. She has never had new clothes before.

Say hi to Harpercricket or Harpercrickit, my two Crickhollow friends. I've had a lovely time meeting people at Elevensies. I've been AWOL at the beach this weekend though. Hope to see you on Monday!

I had thought yesterday was the mad big boom for the free to play launch. The servers were so loaded down that lag was near unplayable.
Today, 300+ queue to log in. Wow~!

Just a FYI. This game in hi rez is 13.4 gigs in case you might want to redownload. Spent a good chunk of today Bondo ™ ing and block sanding a rear quarter panel on a Ford Aspire. At my age thats hard work.

Oh! and Welcome indeed WAMPAONE! We tried to keep it secret, but it leaked out anyway.

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
    Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
