The pic by Sathim is awesome, I think he's posted it before? I vote it gets posted once a week to remind us of its awesomeness...

This makes no sense to me. How do you stack morale on a creep and how is that a base strategy?

Kolt thanks for the 1v1s btw. Was shocked they were able to be uninterrupted!

Kolt you suck, dog's actually propositioning you for 1v1?! gah.

I still need some uninterrupted 1v1's with Karosh, we've only had a few and like 10 that were interrupted.

I did have a few good 1v1's with Blulum at gg last night, fights could have gone either way, I just got a few lucky crits I think, and was hoping a few more peeps would stick around that kept mapping in, but it was not to be.

Oh and then the mobile humane shelter showed up and eye-raked me to bits.

I still have a lot to learn, and I'll spar anyone any time, even when in groups, although sometimes the see me taking damage and come to help, and I don't always get the words out to "leave me alone im sparring" but that's just how it is.

target me, jump around, pull me off to the side, i know how to read creep sign language. And for the dogs that are reading this, that does not mean drag me off to the side where your 6 mutt friends are waiting until halfway through the spar, but now that I mention it, I'm sure it will happen.

    Cheers anyway!

Given the ability of freeps to do things like this, Arkenstone freeps respond by saying.

    d) Form mega fraids where two or more fraids move and fight as one.

That was a 'food for thought' response to the creep post shown below.

*Take note that half the time, one of the tribes would hit the freeps first without any sort of communication on the whereabouts and nearly wipe them before the second tribe showed up, if at all, we were not communicating, can't let the other tribe get our delicious points now can we?*
For the sake of completeness, I'll repost the other options that were omitted.

    b) Try different strategies.

    c) Improve communication and coordination between fraids.

    d) Form mega fraids where two or more fraids move and fight as one.

    e) Take as many keeps, OPs and Delving buffs as possible. <---- I actually think that doing this reduces your point potential, but some people think otherwise.

    f) Stack all kinds of heals.... stack enough heals, and the worst you're likely to get when fighting nearly equivalent numbers is a draw. No more fraid wipes while only getting 3 kills.

Did I miss any options? Just food for thought.
You never know when you pop into the Moors what the balance in terms of total numbers, numbers grouped, and player class percentages are going to be. I've seen nights where freeps were raided up with nothing to fight, and I've seen nights with warg packs zerging any freep who wasn't in or near a group (that tends to make more and more ppl join the fraid, btw). There are also lots of times when I see in the forums "but we only had 10 players against a fraid." Well, we all know how this sort of thing often works out. When that sort of thing happens, wargs follow the fraid, and All the creeps map in at a point where they think their chances for success are best. So you're fighting that fraid with your ten, plus every other creep that maps in.

So to get back to Loki's comment, yes, there are situations when fraids would be well advised to coordinate their movements and attacks when creeps are doing the same.

Are there times when freeps won't push out of TR or GV when they have numbers? Yes. That sort of thing can happen for several reasons. Creep coordination is much better than it is on freepside and freeps are aware of this. If a fraid has been fighting two craids most of the night, they're not going to know right away when one criad has logged or has left the area to go get Delving buffs or something like that. That can lead the remaining craid sitting at the bottom of the hill wondering why the friad is staying by TR or GV. Another reason I can think of why a fraid wouldn't necessarily push when they have numbers has to do with group composition. At times, it's harder than heck to get healers. I was leading a group the other night that had about the same numbers as the creep group. We didn't hug a keep or GV, but we got wiped just about every time we ran into the craid because we had 1 mini and 1 cappy trying to heal 15 people. That's all the heals we had. The percentage of healers in a group is a huge factor in whether that group succeeds or fails when fighting a an opposing group of roughly equal numbers.

I find the biggest problem with sitting in one place too long is you're now allowing several groups/individuals the opportunity to know where you are. This usually pools the groups together, which then push and make freeps wipe. If freeps would continue cycling throughout the map, yes creeps coordinate and share info, but if freeps manage to run into a group, chances are they can get a few kills if not wipe the creeps before backup can arrive. If you just sit in TR for 10 minutes you also run the risk of boring the other side, which then logs and poof, you've lost most of the action for the night. As of late freeps have become more aggressive, moving across the map and it seems to be working more and more for them, and also bringing so very entertaining fights.

Couldn't agree more, heals definitely help but something I find freeps severely lack is focus. I've seen many low heals group still do very well and this, I think, is attributed to the fact that they play so well together; the move together, closely, and above all else, they focus fire properly, they switch targets seamlessly and get kills. I've also seem the opposite, where freeps have tons of heals and dps, but can't kill a darn thing because the dps is so dispersed and people just pick their own targets...nothing dies, freeps get picked off 1 by 1, healers combat rez, freeps get picked off 1 by 1, rinse repeat for 10 minutes.

The real problem is competent minstrels, i've seen fraids with 8 minis die as quickly as those with 1. I don't understand honestly do minis here concentrate more on getting the 5 target OOC aoe rez out or do they concentrate on healing people? I can tell you if 8 minis were spamming bolster courage the entire time the chances of a craid wiping them without very well coordinated interrupts and blight is little to none.

I'll attempt not to name names here, but from what i see playing creep side, most of the minis run around in circles not doing much of anything, playing dead, hiding behind trees and in bushes all in an attempt to drop a 5 target rezz. During this time of uselessness freeps are dropping dead left and right. The minstrel is an extremely powerful healer, now more so than ever if 2-3 minis are targeting someone with heals is should take considerable effort from a creep raid to kill them Not a simple "Target, dead, move on" as is the case most times.

Was looking forward to that little 1v1 we might have had, Zenki, near PTR. I know you didn't call in the other two and thanks for backing off so I could kill them =D

Also, as an FYI, I was running solo and didn't call in that reaver. Anyway, just wanted to say, appreciate the backing off when the others jumped in and wanted to let you know. Look forward to an uninterrupted 1v1 in the future.

    Agreed.

It does a great job of showing the vast potential of a freep raid. Potential. That means what is capable of happening, not what actually happens. We all know the inexperience of most Ark freeps keeps this from becoming a reality on this server. So lets not pretend like it is happening.

Do you know how many collegiate athletes get drafted (and often in the first round) based solely on their potential? It is a dangerous word to toss around... many (read: most) are out of their respective leagues in a matter of a couple years. What's his point, you must be wondering? Most Freeps on Arkenstone don't reach their toons full potential with regards to pvp. I gave my reason for why I think that is so in this thread.
