    Lightbulb Captain Moments

If you want to please describe an interesting moment you've had with your captain. Another thing you could do is show a funnny picture or something with your captain.

    Re: Captain Moments

Easily the most enjoyable moments I've had on my captain were times spent in the moors with my two kinmates (thats right we are a three-man kin). Our trio was Cappy-LM (later RK)-Hunter. We used to play a game to see how many creeps it took to "move" us. We would stand out in the open in paths frequented by greenies, slaughter a few of them, they would get the other creeps riled up and then we see how many it eventually takes to kill us all off. Usually it would take them more than 3 tries to kill us all. They would keep coming back with more, but then, nope, not enough, try again. The usual mistake they made was taking the perceived path of least resistance. Rarely would the creeps choose to attack the guy with 2000+ more health and more armour than the others first, the creeps went for the "squishees". I would just keep the other two alive long enough to kill the creeps while chiping in damage when not healing.

First boss in sg, group was lacking in dps. The fire filled the whole room and I just sat there in Last Stand and whittled down his last 3,000 health with 1 health because of the fire.

    Re: Captain Moments

Back at lvl 60, fighting a flake dropper orc in lorien, I used telling mark, summoned my herald (to throw me some health), and fought him from about 18k to 9k - but because I wasn't getting any crits, I just didn't have the self-healing necessary to keep up, and soon found myself popping last stand, time of need, etc... just couldn't maintain myself. So I switched it up to our dps mark and started running. The stupid orc would not stop following me, so I just led him around in a circle for something like 10 minutes. Killed him, though.

    Re: Captain Moments

There may be better moments but the one I remember is 16th Hall (yeah I know retro) and the champ somehow pulled the entire room of mobs (the big room before first boss).

Oh poop. We're gonna die. Pew pew, shing shing, zap zap, toons are dropping fast.

Time of need, rallying cry, last stand, in harm's way, war cry, routing cry, rallying cry...

And when the dust clears everyone's still alive and we're standing on top of a pile of corpses. Someone types "we are officially bad@ss!"

Hey. You're welcome. It's what we do.

    Re: Captain Moments

Back in early MoM myself and a kinnie (also a cappy) were in loth heading to the second camp. I'm thinking we're just going to ride to the gate dismount and fight our way through as I would normally do while 2nd age farming. He rides all the way to the back of the camp and pulls everything. I don't remember all the details but long story short we killed everything in the camp and managed to die only once each.

    Re: Captain Moments

Soloing the last 9k of that troll boss in SH after the healer DC'd and the guard eventually died. Last stand was about to end and the troll was charging me after going to the middle, I was frantically trying to hit str of morale while waiting for power to regen, and just before he hit me I man healed and finished him off.

Also, had a last stand finish in the fire vs the first boss in SG, that was pretty cool.

That 16th hall pull you guys did is really fun. Never tried it at lvl 60, but with 4 or 5 lvl 65's we've done it a few times. Same thing in HoC, we usually do double group pulls. Big thanks go to RC cooldown legacy on those.

Waaay back when, before anyone on our server had beaten the Balrog, I had just started raiding as the second captain ever in my kin. The raid leader told me all captains did was keep IDOME up and hit stuff.

We get to the Thrang fight and I throw LS/IHW to keep my group alive while I rez the minstrel. The raid leader goes from crying wipe to "what the heck did you just do!?!?"

    Re: Captain Moments

Would be before Moria, I was doing a guild run in the Rift, we did it every weekend and were experts at it, pretty much always had flawless runs, except the day I had my #1 "captain moment".

We were at the Balrog, he was down to about 15% health and a catastrophic chain of events with the healers dieing, wrong guy getting agro, etc ended up with just me a burg and one mini I rezzed.

I ended up tanking and killing him with about 10 health left (mini was spam healing me but wasn't enough) We pretty much threw the kitchen sink at his azz too, Burg was face rolling his keyboard with anything he had, I was hitting any button I could, and was about to go into last stand when he hit me really hard to 10 health (had like 1000 health) as I nailed him at the same time and got the killing blow on him.

Never have I had my heart pumping soo hard over a game, nor had I ever shouted out loud too lol, was quite exciting.

Rest of the raid was in disbelief that we finished him off with just the 3 of us, some had made plans to restart the attack right after we died lol....

I also then ended up getting the weapon too, which completed my rift gear

    Best raid eva!

    Re: Captain Moments

Last night on a Lt. wipe, I hit last stand and logged out/Exit Now'd, logged back in after zombies reset, and rezz'd a minstrel. Saved us 5m of running back up, since Minstrels' FD were down.

    Re: Captain Moments

A captain moment for me would be going afk in Lothlorien to come back to my monitor a few hits form being killed by a lizard. The second I got to my keyboard, I got incapacitated. Today I tried to be the healer in the Dungeons of Dol Guldur and I was told to get rid of fear but the Warden wouldn't allow me. And when I did, he put more fear on us. I learned my lesson: Bring Morale and Fear pots with me to instances.

Doing volume 2 book 6.8 i think...the one with the flame and shadow guys.

We pull 3 massive trolls, i watch morale bars plumet (from memory we were 5 manning it) then i look over and see the mini has gone link dead.
Oh S%$& someone says we are gonna wipe.

I rally the troops. "everyone on my target! revealing mark up! IHW on spam heals and inspire.
Throw up LS keep spamming heals and swap the mark to the next target...

The last troll hits the floor and the mini appears back... "Holy **** how are you guys still alive?"

He he God like at times the Cappy!!

I'd have to say a good example of a captain moment is joining a PUG to run SG and listening while the minstrel gets all the credit for healing. :P

    Re: Captain Moments

This was waaaaaay back in SoA. I was leveling my first character, a burg, and had just learned about straight FMs. We were in our low 40's and running fornost and had been running Wings of the Windlord as our FM through the whole instance and got to the ghost room in the tower, got a random FM on the first Barghast you pull in the room, thats when we found out wings is AoE. Anyway, it pulled that entire room cap goes IHW/LS (first that many of us had known about the skill) and we cleared the room with only 1 death, which was the unfortunate captain since the mins was a total nub as well and had been healing him throughout LS/IHW and wasn't ready to heal when it expired. That was when I said "WOW, caps are friggen awesome!!"
