    Fix the WL bug please

    Hey Turbine, given any thought to fixing this 2 year old bug? We sure would appreciate being able to play without forced 20 minute logout breaks.

    If you are referring to the bug where WLs can not be defeated or do anything due to being in /RP on and whatever else... Just turn it off for now and continue playing until they fix it, you'll be targeted much less.

    And if you're referring to something else, I'll gladly shut up and let you continue on your way.

    EDIT: Just trying to help, I know it's not a perfect suggestion, but it's a workable alternative. No hard feelings.

    Has nothing to do with being in RP mode. My WL does not have RP switched on, and I've still gotten the bug multiple times.

    I think we hit a new record on BW last night. 6 WL bugs in 5 hours. So that's a little over an hour spent re-logging and staring at the cleaning up old connection screen. 3 year old bugs ftw.

    i won't even play my wl anymore because of it. the first time i had it 2 years or so ago it actually took me 2 weeks before i was able to log on my wl. now with it happening even more often and after a certain wl was banned for trying to get out of combat to relog while having the glitch i just don't feel it worth playing my wl anymore. as for the freep qq about it not being balanced think about it this way if creeps are dying enough that the wl rez makes a noticeable change in the battle then obviously creeps are dying far more then freeps so u guys are getting more reknown then creeps are getting infamy thus winning lol

    I haven't played my WL for quite awhile, but I had trouble logging in a couple of nights ago. The night before my WL might have been the last toon I logged in for the night... is that what y'all are talking about? That if you exit the game while on your WL, the next time you go to log into the game you get a nasty 20-min wait?

    The WL bug happens when bad server lag and the plethora of freep CC abilities somehow combine to put a WL in a postion where he is partially stuck in a combat state, still able to move, but not taking any damage. They also can't use any abilities, including auto-attack. They'll be stuck in the animation of whatever CC was the last to hit. So if it was a mez, they'll be in that head-down pose. If it was a knockdown, they'll be stuck kneeling. Either way, they slide around the map when moving. If it was a fear, they'll run like normal.

    When you go to log off, it'll take often upwards of 15 minutes to actually reach the login screen. If you kill the client before that point, the wait usually will be on the front end when you go to log in.

    Careful about that. The GMs (at least on Brandywine) will ban WLs who get the bug through no fault of their own, if a freep reports them. Also, we had a freep raid leader threatened with a ban by a GM for having his raid bug the issue.

    That makes absolutely no sense. Why punish a person reporting a bug? I thought they WANTED our input regarding stuff like that...

    Even more specifically, it is when a RP LM's mez is overridden during server lag. If everyone disables RP, it significantly reduces the possibility of this happening. This also explains why certain servers rarely see it and why it will occur en masse when it does happen. Low RP-pop servers don't see it often, as there are few RP-tagged LMs, but when a RP-tagged LM is in the moors, it happens very easily.

    Also, Kermie, the logical reason for the cease and desist order was that multiple reports of the SAME OCCURRENCE of the bug simply clog the reporting server and take too much time to process. 1 person /bugging it each time is equal to 50 people /bugging it. Now, it needs to be bugged every time it occurs, but only by one person each time. When there are multiple reports linked to the same instance, they waste the time of the QA team that has to sort through them looking for new bug reports.

    All of which could easily be avoided by having a single blue name take 15 seconds and acknowledge that it is a known issue and is being researched and will be fixed some day.

    Its getting pretty out of hand on Brandy.

    We are getting bugged about 3 times a night on average. That's 30-60 minutes spent re-logging and raging in vent about how stupid it is. Our record is 6 times in 4 hours I think.

    it does get crazy...
    Nothing like watching 2 full raids fall apart because all of the WLs have to log multiple times.

    One thing that I had experienced In the raids I was in. WL's were taking SS of LM's with RP tags and any time they were bugged, they reported the LM's for exploiting a know issue. End result was WL had to relog taking 10-20 minutes and the LM responsible was banned for a day or more.

    Havent seen this issue pop up to much, but I havent been able to play during primetime lately

    I think the worst part about this bug is that they actully ban people for it.

    Now i "accused" the GMs the other day for being freelancers and not working with Turbine, which is the common case in many MMOs. However I actually got a response from a GM that said that they did indeed worked in Turbines office and why wouldnt they? Now heres my question then, how come they are so f*cking incompetent that they ban people for an obvious bug thats been obvious for 3 years?

    Can we get one of the GMs to respond to this?

    I want to share the experience from German server Belegaer. From discussions on Codemasters forum, one can say that it is similar on other German servers

    When there are good numbers on both sides, the server has lag. As soon as there is lag and raids fighting and freep CC, there is a good chance of some or all WLs of a raid being bugged. On days with big fights going on, the WL bug does happen quite often.

    Lag is certainly needed for it to appear. CC is the next thing needed. But that is all that is sure; the RP flag is under suspicion, but this may simply be an "urban myth", it has never been proven (in fact, a lot of CC-wielders on freep side have become roleplayers since the RP flag is rumored to have something to do with WL bug. I guess that is by chance)
