    If you change crafting professions...

... and then change back will you go back to the levels you were or will all three things start back at 0
World of Warcraft is the McDonalds of MMORPGs, it's cheap, mediocre and after you consume it you feel dirty.

  2. Re: If you change crafting professions...

Once you change vocations you lose all experience in any profession that is not in the new vocation you have chosen.

Meaning if you change from Historian to Armsman you will keep any Weaponsmithing experience/guild rep that you have. But you will lose all Scholar and Farming experience/guild rep.

If you chose to change back you will not regain any Scholar/Farmer experience/guild rep but will retain the Weaponsmithing status.

Once you lose the experience/guild rep in a profession you cannot get it back.

I hope that helps clear things up.

Re: If you change crafting professions...

As mentioned, when you switch, you only keep anything that overlaps...the other skills are wiped completely gone. So maxing everything, then swapping, and then swapping back is a huge waste of your time....take the time to invest in multiple characters, really

And as mentioned, if you are a member of a guild, you lose all rep and guild recipes, as well as any non-standard recipes by swapping, if the new skill isn't represented in the profession you switch to.

It's fine if you are low level and are swapping professions to get the freebie xp from the newbie area tasks....but once you start going, the best thing to do is stick with something....and then develop another character at a later date.

7-9 character slots, 7 crafting guilds....lots of overlap Really only need 3 or 4 chars to cover every skill, but you need 7 to cover every crafting guild, IF you want to Not everyone does or has a need or desire to.

I actually just had a similar question. If you are changing your professions from Armsman to Historian and you are currently Guilded with the Weaponsmiths when you change to Historian do you keep your Guild standing with Weaponsmiths?
