    Question VIP and Premium

Whats the difference between VIP and Premium? :S

VIP is the account status when you have a paid subscription. It has many benefits including, but not limited to, having your trait slots/tiers unlocked, removing the gold cap, accessing swift travel, rented access to all the non-expansion zones, rented access to the Crafting guilds, access to the Moors (PvMP), monthly 500tp, etc.

Premium is the account status of someone who has spent any amount of money on LotRO. It gives one additional class slot, increases the Gold cap to 5 (over F2P's 2), 5 slots in the AH.

If you are Premium and have purchased everything (game/character functionality-wise) there is to purchase, the basic difference is you do not have 500 TP coming in monthly.

This does not list freep PvMP, which is also part of the package.

Premium: Gold cap to 5, 5 auction house slots, 1 char slot, as already said.

There is also the Ex-VIP Premium, that keeps some of the things from VIP when falling back to premium.
This advantages are bound to characters logged in during VIP time. Some of them have ingame requirements.
    List for Ex-VIP chars:

    • all leftover +100%XP, until used up
    • full access to a crafting guild, if you finish 2nd standing before going premium
    • currency cap removed
    • Riding skill access, if you finish the riding quest (lv20) before going premium
    • all virtue slots unlocked
    • 5 inventory bags unlocked
    • fast travel is unlocked
    • all deeds that have been started before going premium can be completed, even if you do not own the area. Only the started tier can be finished for multiple tier deeds.
    • Stuff in wardrobe can be kept there, but cannot be replaced or filled up until unlocking enough fields.

Char slots that are only given for VIPs (both normal and monster chars) need to be unlocked before being able to play those chars again.

This functionality was changed. The current operation when the daily reset occurs:
    1) Fill up a VIP account's tank which is 30% of the experience points to the next level. Due to the way the bonus works you get a maximum of 15% of the next level per day.

    2) Remove all points for a Premium accounts.
Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.

Currency cap is actually just raised to the premium cap of 5g, if you lose VIP, to discourage gold farmers, according to an account customer service agent I spoke with recently. The cap is only removed as a VIP subscriber, or you pay for it through TP or it comes included with a pack of some sort. An example of one would be the samwise gamgee pack, which does include an account wide lift of the currency cap.

Actually... For every character you log on to while VIP, the gold cap is removed. Permanently.
Any character that was not logged onto while VIP (for example, any created subsequent to VIP having lapsed) will merely have the increased gold cap of 5.
