• Great Barrows would be L21 minimum to L25 maximum (Sambrog is L25). From personal experience, Sambrog is sort of a pushover, so I don't think a well-coordinated L21+ group would have any trouble.
• Fornost would be (if Allakhazam's entry is correct) L38 minimum and L42 maximum. L38 would be a bear. 42 would definitely be doable. I five-manned it with four L38-42s and an un-pimped L50 minstrel without much difficulty.

No clue where the whole Garth Agarwen cluster falls now. I always hated that place, so never bothered learning it.

Personally, I think the ultimate goal should be Barad Guluran. If you can walk out of that place at-level and undying, you truly have some bragging rights.

GA, I think is low- to mid-30s. And w/ the big revamp, it's somewhere I'm looking forward to.

Is the intent to basically solo to where we're ready for GB?

Even with the padded walls they've installed, that's not entirely trivial. I still don't have an undying character even tho I've semi-tried with a few of them. If I can think of a name, I'll get started on mine tomorrow..

Hey guys.

I was away from the forums for a stretch and am catching up. 'Just saw this thread.

I'd be willing to give it a shot. I'd prefer to play a Warden or Hunter, but no strong prefs and will do what is needed.

I usually don't pop on until late east coast time. After 10:30 pm.

Instances and areas I would love to do as part of this:

Great Barrows
Retaking Weathertop (now part of the epic line)
Garth Agarwen (now a cluster of two 3-mans and a 6-man)
Dol Dinen
Fornost
Thief Takers Bane (if we are feeling plucky... that could cause some serious pain)

If we have not run out of steam at that point, we should Permadeath everything in Angmar. There is a lot of group content there that I have only done once, most of it before the revamp. Then we hit BG... and if we can nail a full clear on level, no deaths first time, carp traits... then yeah, we basically just won the game. If we can do a flawless Rift clear on level, then we are gods.

I think a flawless BG clear would be even harder. You can't duplicate items any more to cover someone that's on cool down since they go *poof* when you leave the instance. That means one shot at it, with no mistakes, and no bad breaks because someone is on cool down for a back to back whammy. It would take a miracle....and I can't wait to try.

I'm all for places I haven't been to in forever like Dol Dinen, GA, and Fornost too. It all starts at the Barrows though so head up to the L21-22 range and we can get started.

PS: I'll start as an Explorer then switch to Armorer before GB. If people feed me some mats I can get everyone in some passable Light/Medium/Heavy armor before we get started. Save those crafting bits!

You should give a Warden a try. I've level'd one up to 26 without dying yet (on Landroval unfortunately) and that's not really playing conservatively either. I can remember marching up to those 5 grouped wolves guarding the northern pass into the Lone-lands (Weatherpass I think) and just going for it even though I was just +1 level over theirs. Unless you really mess something up, Warden's can walk away from almost any encounter (within reason).

Agreed. BG is frickin' brütal (umlaut for emphasis and awesome), and I don't think anything before or since would be as much of a challenge. It's one of the few 6-man instances I haven't cleared, on-level or otherwise (the others being GA and, for some odd reason, Urugarth).

Personally, I'd stay the hell out of CD. Too many "you lose" mechanics in there that have jack and squat to do with party coordination or player skill. Plus I don't think it's been bug-free since about August of '07.

===

Edit: Still considering jumping in on this. Rolled a minstrel (dwarf, of course) named Uzur Daddy. I'll fart around for a bit during the day and see if I can still play the game.

Well, I just got home since my plans for the night were kinda derailed by an impromptu viewing of "The Blues Brothers"... time well spent. Once a kin name is officially chosen, we can get things officiated and a kin rolling (hopefully by the weekend).

Already started my Champion on Vilya. Got him up to level 7 before being pulled into Landy PvP. I also think I have a Vent that we can use. But still need to confirm.

My Champ's name is "Hardcharger." Just give him a shout in game and we can blow through the lowbie content together. Currently in Ered Luin.

Pretty sure, my toon will be the first to die...LOL! Once this is really rolling, we should start a death pool...hehe

Edit: Planning for my toon to go the Weaponsmith route in terms of crafting.

LOL! Nice. I was wondering the same thing. Expected there were a few peeps floating around in the noob zone. Just give me a shout out next time you see me in IG. Will be happy to group up and blow stuff out.

By the way, that Harbinger's Cloak that I thought was useless when I purchased the Adventure Pack is actually coming in handy...

Will do. Added you to my Friends list. I'm working on Uzur, though I have a handful of other characters I'm considering (including a hobbit of undecided class named Tenderlumplings).

I havnt had much time to log on and play my main let alone jump in on this even though I want to. I'll try and roll out my Captain cuz I really don't want to play anything other than that or possibly a runekeeper.

I know if I roll an rk I'll die long before lvl 10 so this may keep me in lue to focusing on my kin on nimrodel.

although I did find out that this posting has inspired an in game bud of mine to start the same thing you have started for those who opted to start.

adding some more spunk to the mix to keep an old game going. Yay!

Re: Not related to the Hunter Class, but germane to the Community

Added NAT and Nepenthea to my Friends list. Also, created a userchat channel (Hun****z, without the *s, of course) to tide us over until Beovaar can get the kin up and rolling.

Also: Uzur Daddy (Dwarf MIN + Scholar)

Rolled up a man hunter, Flytov. He's currently level 10 and doing the Combe quests.

When I log back in later tonight I'll join the channel.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

I'm no longer subbed, mate. I can only post because Turbine started up another one of their free weekends. If I was, though, I would have joined. Ah well.
