Well, Dahm's EvilTwin had his closest brush with death this morning.. got a bad goblin pull in the LL and got stunned. Hit a morale pot and mashed the **** out of my DF button until I came out of stun. Came up at the rez circle with just a hundred or so health left.. had me pretty worried there for a sec.

Re: Not related to the Hunter Class, but germane to the Community

Well with going F2P I ran into a few to many clunky issues on end game to make me happy to grind out the wait so for now Im on Final Fantasy 14 for my 30 day free trial and will probably continue into it a bit depending on how well I like it in end game.

The instance upgrades for GB were pretty nice and make old instances fun again for max lvl toons. Only down is that trying to do HM was annoying since some are broken even after months of testing. It kind of made me sad that Turbine was so fixed on the low lvl stuff they ignored the content they already had.

Turtle and Blind One leaving out DoTs insanely high? I refuse to run turtles anymore until this is fixed. This change was set in lue to Burg/LM debuffs. Was hoping the instances would be fixed by now during the hot fix but what ever.

I did find out on my Captain that running GB at lvl 20 was near impossible. We had a good amount of players lvl 25 or 26 in the group and we just couldnt get past Thadur The Raveger. I think it might of been partly due to some of the players but I digress. They def made GB harder but it was still fun to farm and get the GB Armour set for my little 26 Captain

Oh and while on the note of Final Fantasy 14.
If any of you are playing it now or plan to. Figaro Server. What ever starting town starts with the U in the name. My character name is Cyan Garamondee. I plan on making a Linkshell called The Returners at some point. Yes its all a huge FF6 thing but what ever. I loved FF6. (or when I was first playing it it was FF3 on the SNES)

The wife and I are on Besaid. We went with the unofficial RP server (again) for the atmosphere and (slightly) higher percentage of not-stupid names. Signed up for three months plus our free 30 days, and we'll see how it goes. Some (though not all) of the interface issues I had from the beta have been resolved, and if they keep tinkering with things it might actually equal the playability of XI in a month or two.

Characters are (just in case anyone's interested) Jas Brannan and Kyra Toln.

Also: It's Ul'dah. We started there, too. It seemed to have the most Bastok-like layout (i.e. not stupid), and we both hated running around Sandy and doubly hated Windurst.

What's up you guys and gals!

Well...we now have a Kin House. Just bought one in Thorin's. Got the location that is closest to the Vault and square. All chests are unlocked so now we have a place to pass mats to different toons. Pants and I had zero housing decorations so the place is completely empty aside from the chests...hehe.

Anyway, HC is totally broke now so will do his best to make some more coin. Not sure if you guys are serious about hitting Fornost or not. If so, the level goal is 40-42 without dying. I think BA and I are the only level 40+ toons in the Kin atm.

    Enjoy!

Cool. If I'm on and have the disposable cash I'll be sure to dump some money in.

Somewhat related: I haven't been playing at all recently (been absorbed in GT Legends and busy with school, in that order), and am considering officially calling it quits (again). If we're going to actually make the Fornost run I'll make sure I'm there, but that'll be the end of the line for me. I was going to call it after DD, but I forgot to mention it beforehand and didn't want it to feel like I'd "ragequit" the group.

Dahm's Eviltwin has been dormant for a while, but I'm almost done with all the solo work I wanted to do on my mains on BW, so I'll be back to work on him soon. He's got a ways to go before he's ready for Fornost tho...

Just wanted to chime in with a quick 'Thanks' to all of you involved in the thread. As a newcomer to the game, reading about your (sometimes mis-)adventures has been nearly as much fun as playing through my own!

    @Wood & Dom:

Whatever you guys want to do, I'll be ready. All we need is 6 to make it happen. Got 4 that I see, 5 with Wood's wife, and an easy 6 if NAT comes back around. Would be fun to hit Fornost for Permadeath, which I think was the main goal all along. Pretty sure HC will meet his doom there, but I'm willing to give it a whirl just for the shenanigans.

At least we now have a Kin House to move mats through and don't have to be mailing stuff to each other all the time. lol

    @Mojodamm

Thx dude. You are welcome to join the Permadeath fun if you have it in you to power up a toon to 40 and not die. Gotta say, the Permadeath experience has been quite fun, in fact, one of my favorite LOTRO experiences so far. When it is over, I will recall the experiences with particular fondness and favor, not to mention the great peeps I got to play with.

Well, I think we're all still around, but I think we've all more-or-less folded on the permadeath thing. It was fun for a bit, but gets pretty oppressive after a while. That near-full wipe at Dol Dinen took a lot of wind out of our sails, I think.

Ballslappingness permadeath is rough. It would seem that putting time in to crafting in worth a lot more than in normal play. It makes me sad that you stopped, as I'd only really want to do it because of PD.

Yeah, I was pretty frustrated after the fall at DD (tho it was fun run while it lasted). I actually still brought a hunter up after that, but despite the fact I haven't taken him out of my sig, he died soloing in the ND.. so I'd have to start from scratch yet again if I wanted to give it another go.

Right now, I actually have plenty to keep my mains busy, so I probably wouldn't be up for getting back into the perma-death thing even if there were more interest from the rest of the crew. To me, it was a mostly just good diversion while my mains didn't have anything better to do. Tho it was cool to be able to chat in-game w/ some of the usual suspects from the forums too.

It was definitely fun to be in game with a bunch of the forum regulars. I'd log in again just for that if people are interested but I won't be leveling more walking dead, at least not at a rapid pace. That was fun when there was nothing to do but BG one night a week, but now there's new content keeping me busy (plus I play a bit less in general).

I do have to say that CWood makes the best character names. It was probably my favorite part of the entire experiment.

That was the best part, in my opinion. I haven't actually played Halvr in like 2 years, but I still spend more time here than I do on the rest of the forums.

Heh. Thanks, though personally I think Immalitta Teapot (the wife's hobbit guardian) was the best name by a longshot. Not only was it clever, descriptive, and accurate, it wasn't likely to result in a forced namechange, which most of mine were.

Dashingly Wellhung was actually her character name, too. It's a descriptor she came up with to describe a certain archetype of character background that a lot of poor roleplayers frequently use. The "He's basically me, but with big muscles. And money. And he's like super-attractive to the women. And really good in bed." one.

I'm pretty steeped in stuff to do on my Mains atm, but I've still been finding time to farm enough coin to pay for our Kin House. So the goods will still be there when we want them.

Everyone is an Officer. So if somebody is interested in joining, it shouldn't be too difficult to coordinate an invite with someone here. Send me a PM if you are interested in joining and we can arrange a time to logon together so I can get the Kinvite to you.

Since Fornost is what we were shooting for, level 40-1 is where you want to end up. Actually provides an opportunity to explore the new Evendim changes when leveling if that is something that appeals to you.

One thing to consider though, I'm pretty certain we will all die in Fornost if we ever decide to roll again. So it will be a last hurrah, one-shot deal for everyone. lol

Just thought I would drop in and see who is still around and how everyone is doing.

CWood and I are still playing FFXI and have been busy making and now raising a second boy-child. Now to get to the real point of this thread, Final Fantasy has become super casual friendly for those of you who used to play. Come to the Dark Side, we have Moogles.

If anyone actually wants to take me up on this, we are on Bismark.

I've been re-evaluating a lot of my gaming priorities... was in and out of the TOR beta and will be playing that for a short while. I have a lifetime sub to LOTRO, so I'll always play this at least a little off and on, but when push comes to shove, with starting a new business, getting back in school and just general life changes, I am not going to be in an MMO space for much longer...

...unless of course there is an Elder Scrolls MMO... then I'm screwed.

The other, of course, involves orcs.

Congrats on the new business. What are you going back to school for? Masters or second Bachelors?

Dear god, I hope they never make an Elder Scrolls MMO, I would never sleep again.

I have to wrap up a few things for Stationary Engineering before summer, and then I would resume my efforts at Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Two different uses for the term "engineer"... but as you might imagine, I kinda like to build stuff.

I got some friends from De Garuda (Nimrodel), and some of my wife's best friend's husband's WoW guild (have no clue, but damn that was fun to say) together on Corellian Run server in SWTOR - toons both sides.

If anyone part of this thread (and hunter community) doesn't have a home in SWTOR yet, let me know, you'll always have a home in any guild I help run!

RL has been kicking my ###, too. but it's been fun bein' all married and stuff. Congrats H/CWood, and congrats on the bidness SB!!!!

I'm pretty much done w/ LOTRO other than checking it out after updates on Hataru and playing a few times a month w/ Sarah. It's fun exploring Middle Earth w/ her, and the game is alot of fun in the lower levels. I could be happy re-rolling toons and playing through the Shire and Ered Luin, but once I get about 1/2-way through Moria and the luster of the starter LI fades, so does my interest.

I hear ya about playtime, too. I like SWTOR so far, being able to murderface trash as a heal-spec consular and then switch to healing for bosses only makes a 90 minute instance feel like a 45 minute one. It's not the perfect MMO by a long, long shot, but I enjoyed playing far more than I thought I would.

If any Awesome Friends are still lurking around here and playing The Game That Really Shan't Be Named, I started an Awesome Friends chapter on Ehmry Bay (or however it's spelled). Not doing permadeath this time, but figured with multiple guild memberships and cross-server guilds and whatnot we could use it to keep in touch. Shoot a /t to Kjoll, Kazil, or Rasshah.

Hmm played SWTOR for a year now just about and ran across one person from LOTRO on it from my server. We had giggle fits for about 20s and then proceeded to ignite lightsabers and then kill something so horrid that we could only speak of it in our darkest days.

    Jawas....

Glad this thread didn't fall off yet. Thought it would of but tee hee

If anyone here is planning to play SW:TOR for a bit and on Harbinger Server let me know. I'm always up to making alts.

The Pariah will be back on Nimrodel for expansion though. Has to keep my hunter "somewhat" up to date.

I got a free transfer of my SW:TOR characters to Harbinger before I unsubbed. Made it into the 30's with a couple of Troopers and a sentinel. Played with some other classes. Real life got in the way.

Yah real life can kinda bite the bullet on MMOs. For me it is the cost of monthly Sub on SWTOR that won't keep me around much longer but since it plans to go F2P soon I will stick it out for the Cartel Points.

Sentinel / Marauder is still my favorite class in the game. Storywise and gameplay.
Sage / Sorcorer are fun but I was saddened by the lack of story feel on the Consular and was turned off by it.
Trooper I played to Lvl 15 and felt it reminded me to much of my Marine Corp days and stopped playing him lol.

Still playing a melee DPS in that game I miss my Hunter from here and find myself wanting to Pew Pew. Most of all though. Porting to towns. Can only do that every 20 minutes in SW lol.
