Unhappy Update Game Data - 0/21779

What is this update again for ? I installed game from DVD for 8GB.

Also, download speed is very slow around 250kbps. Any way I can skip this and play my trial version first? There is no problem with my internet.

There has been a lot of new content added since the dvd, including this latest download only expansion, Siege of Mirkwood. It's part of the client whether a player has bought the expansion or not so everyone has to download it.

If you are getting slow update speeds you can try to close it and restart to see if you get better speeds.

Depends on which game I'm in :)

Re: Update Game Data - 0/21779

Everyone uses the same client, regardless of what in-game content they have access to. The only choice is between the standard client and high resolution client. The high resolution client is around 13 GB in size. The high resolution textures files, which the standard resolution client does not have, is around 3.5-4 GB in size. If you installed from the DVD chances are you have the high resolution client. The client is downloading the current version of the files that it needs. You can always download the latest client from here which will have fewer updates to go through.
