They would have been from the Dunland Runekeeper set, eg the Noble's Woolen Mantle, probably dyed Crimson. I had missed out on them because they are hardly visible.

The Knowing Hunter (not a Shaman)

This costume was inspired by a male Beorning that I saw in the Three-farrow Crafting Hall which wore the chest piece in black. I can't tell any more which shoulders he had added, only that I thought that they didn't fit well, and that there had to be a better pair, especially the one you can barter in Enedwaith. I went there for a check, began to experiment with the contents of my vault - and all kinds of colors - and finally created an outfit that is too wild to wear, in its literal meaning.

There is a time in the life of a real hunter, when he comes to understand, that he understands nothing.

He cannot understand how it is to live in the wilderness, without a shelter other than the the tree you are sleeping under, the hole that you dug in the ground to raise your litter in, the mountain slope that you walk and that might be too steep for your enemies to follow you.

He cannot understand how his prey has to live, with no roof to flee under, no bow to wield to reach the enemy from afar, exposed to oppressing heat and freezing cold, driven away from the rising torrent, and running for the last good spot in a drying rivulet to drink from, wandering the land for food that is ever scarce.

This is the day when he walks to a home in his village and knocks at its door, and an old man comes out and says: I have been waiting for you. And both go into the home and talk, for a long time.

This is the day when The Voyage begins.

There is no preparation. No gathering of supplies. No collection of belongings. The hunter will have to go without anything except his clothes and his bow, and leave into the wilderness. He is not allowed to come nearer than five miles to any settlement, road, or resources cache. And he has to stay there until he understands.

Some return after a day. Some after a week. Most of them have given up and will never become a real hunter. Others will never return, and no one will ever hear of their fate.

Those who stay until they really understand, are few.

After their return they know what this old man had told them, not because he had told them about it, but because they had experienced it. They have become a Knowing.

They have learned that living this life in the wilderness, all on your own, with no help from your own species except maybe your parent which teaches you by example which things help to survive, and which not, depending on nothing but your fur, your teeth, your paws, hooves, or claws, can never be fully understood by them, because they are just Men.

And they have gained a new respect for these creatures, their short and dangerous lives, their struggle and strain, that has changed their way of hunting forever.

The Knowing are not a guild, neither are they an order, they are only sharing this knowledge. But as a sign for the Voyage that they took, they are wearing a costume, a Tracht, when they gather to accept new members in their ranks, to introduce them to the older members of the Knowing. This costume is different for each bearer, as it is supposed to tell the story of the hunter who chose to wear it; yet there are some common features which can be understood by everyone who has tried to live a life as they did.

The main colors are often red, white, and black.

Black - the color of Night and Shadow
Sheltering the hunter and the prey, or not.

White - the color of bleak moonlight on the snow and bare ground
Revealing the prey, and the hunter.

Red - the color of life and death
Life as long as it is running within your veins. Death when it starts to pour out.

There are more elements in the costume, which are tokens of the experiences that the hunter made when he was on the Voyage: feathers that describe how he wandered in high places, or claws that hail from a fight with a formidable foe. Fur pieces tell of nights in the deepest winter; and grey cloth is the reminiscense of an encounter with the power which is the deadliest of all, not a creature, but nature in its fiercest form, a raging wildfire which left nothing behind but ash and cold embers.

This hunter has seen it all, and his Tracht tells it.

Head: Far-arrows Helm (Mirkwood barter item for hunters or from the skirish camp), crimson
    Back: Swan-Cloak (Shop), crimson
Shoulders: Lesser Arrow of the West Shoulder Guards (Enedwaith barter item for hunters), crimson
Chest: (Ceremonial) Ajokoira Armor (must be Ally to the Lossoth of Forochel to obtain the recipe), grey
Hands: Bridge-defenders (reward for finishing the quest 'Orcs of the Blood Mountain', in the North Downs), red
Legs: Lesser Arrow of the West Leggings (Enedwaith barter item for hunters), red
Feet: Silver-thread Slippers (cosmetic barter from the skirmish camp), crimson

Don't know why some parts are pixelated and others look fine, but oh well

I actually took this one a long time ago. This is the closest to camo I could get for a Hunter/Burglar class. I'm all about that stealth. Works great in Fangorn!

Sorry it turned out kind of pixely.

Finally got a cloak to go with this. Shame years later the gloves are bugged and don't show. Erebor Skald set w/ the Ashes & Stars quest-line cloak.

My hunter finally hit 95 and I realized I had a few emerald shards stashed away, so I made a few shiny new Fangorn armour pieces (chest, legs, shoulders) for her, and I really like how they look with the cloak and boots she was already wearing, so for once she's actually "wearing" the equipment she's got on. Now just need a blood bay instead of a grey horse.

Hauberk of the Mirrormere, and the Ranger cloak from the Gravenwood epic rewards, both dyed purple. A champion of Galadriel needs to project a certain air of strength and dignity.

My elf has seen the sea. And apparently decided to dress for a desert caravan? But in blue and gray - sea and storm!

If someone could explain how to make the game save screenies in a better-quality format than .jpg, I'd be gracious.

Hood of Night (dyed steel blue - Skirmish, Classic, Halls of Night Rare)
Dunlending's Hunting Jacket (steel blue - Friend standing with Men of Dunland)
I replaced the shoulders recently with Lore-master's shoulders (dyed grey - Skirmish, Classic, Barad Guldur 85 Medium), but the shoulders in the pic are from Skirmish - Classic - Barrows Armour, medium
Strong westfold skirmish gauntlets (crafted - westold, medium)
Dolen-lhopan (dyed grey - Dunland Epic quest line)
Cloak of the Grey Company (dyed black - Enedwaith Epic quest line)
