    Runekeeper Class Traits

Took some screenies of the Runekeeper class traits and trait paths (separated as such). They are:

    Benedictions of Peace

    Cleansing Fires

    Solitary Thunder

Do with them what you will. See what your RK is capable of!

Fire is massive damage from your DoTs. Remember that in solo-play, Cleansing Fire Path is almost 100% induction skills as well.

I use a Solitary Thunder primary with support from Cleansing Fire to maximize damage output on a solo-playstyle. The sheer amount of debuffs on -tact resist and -lightning mitigation coupled with the higher self crit ratings is sheer love.

I would say, though, that almost no Rune-keeper would give up Overflowing Confidence (-20% power cost for 30s). Tale of Rage and Tale of Storm are also no-brainers if you're trying to focus on pumping out the damage.

Also... the Class Path bonuses are very nice for all 3 paths. One of the better parts of the Path bonuses IMO is that 2 traits in each line give you the ability to use a significant skill at any attunement:

    *2 Benedictions of Peace allow you to place Runes of Restoration even deep in Battle-attune;
*2 Cleansing Fire traits let you use Fiery Ridicule in Heal-attune
*2 Solitary Thunder traits let you use Chilling Rhetoric in Heal-attune.
    .

I think that's actually how I have my RK set up right now. I like having the extra skills available when I need them. Can't wait to actually have to earn these traits.

I think this is the most indepth class turbine has produced yet.
it seems that the survival of the RK is really going to be based on what is slotted.

are the legendary skills worth going for or are they just not with the price and it is better to have like partial bonuses from each of the major catagories?

The Legendary Skill "Steady Hands" is a very useful skill to have. I honestly have not tried some of the other ones. But Steady Hands would be the best as you can very quickly switch your Attunement to neutral, which can either very quickly up your DPS or your healing.

    WOAH! They all look fantasic!

Im guessing Solitary thunder will be best for solo as its all instant attack, but cleansing fires will be best for grouping as it does more damage? I think for leveling up i will mostly be Solitary thunder, with a bit in cleansing fires. Then when i decide to group i think i may go mostly Cleaning fires and 1 or 2 traits in Solitary thunder. Also Benedictions of Peace looks amazing for when i want to be a main healer in group situations. What are peoples opinions on the DPS difference between Solitary Thunder and Cleansing fires?

Also what does the 3 trait set bonus in cleansing fire mean? 1+ Pulse Wrath of flame? Does that mean fire skills have an extra tick of damage?

7 Reasons why Sauron is Like a Woman: (1) Both have been called "the greatest enemy of men". (2) Think they should rule the world. (3) They obsess over jewelry. (4) They spread gossip like the plague. (5) They boss kings around like servants (6) They have an eye that sees all, or at least claim to. (7) They hold a grudge for hundreds of years.

Don't have an opinion on the DPS difference yet, as I haven't really tested that bit.

The 3 Trait Set Bonus in Cleansing Fire means that your skill Wrath of Flame does an extra tick of damage. Not all of your fire skills.

Wrath of Flame is every fire attack, and Fury of Storm is every Lightning attack.
It was the King Color, of which all the other colors are merely partial and wishy-washy reflections. It was octarine, the color of magic. ...
But Rincewind always thought it looked sort of a greenish purple.

That is so cool. Can't wait until Marlial gets something more than Fiery Rhetoric! Have to say.... as a writer I absolutely love the traits! You gotta love Scathing Retorts and Memorable Prose!

    Thanks for the post!

Either this thread or the other one on RK class traits should be stickied. They still aren't in the Lorebook!

Wow...just realized that Linnod of Peace and Linnod of Subtlety would be great for healing. I'll have to slot them to see how it works

    Hooray, stickied!

Can anybody comment on how much the Rune of Endurance helps at Level 60 (HP with and without the trait)? I shelved it when I earned it as I think it was something like 30 more HP for my 100 HP rock, which did not seem significant at the time.

Also, how much is the morale boost from Memorable Prose?

    Re: Runekeeper Class Traits

This would be a good place for a blunt trait question:

So I've been completing traits for a while now, and I've HAD All lightening traits (4 Slots so far), until now - I'm starting to wonder IF in fact the cleansing fires line would be more beneficial to me (I play mostly solo, or as much as possible).

The main reason I've been Lightening traited is so my shocking touch could be doubled, while taking advantage of all that the lightening line had to offer. Also, the Fire line has been fairly un-appealing, because they ARE all mostly induction skills (which sucks as I'm getting pounded on) and it's hard to PHYSICALLY SEE what kind of difference it is making (it's tough to keep track of DOT damage accumulation). SO>>>>>>>>>>

WHAT, in all of you opinions is the way to go... Lose my 10-20s mez and take my Fire line? Keep the mez and just slot a portion of the fire line? Stick with lightening?

Help me out here! I'm stressed!

My answer for soloing (only level 35, and not done much tinkering with these trait sets): I think Confounding principles is the single best RK class trait. In general if you need a mez, you need a long one. If you want to go to 4 on a different trait line, I would wait until you have 5 slots so you can keep your long mez.

Fire line just doesn't look that good to me. There's a few traits that have value on their own, but IMO the extra pulse is the only trait set bonus that is likely to be beneficial soloing, and even then only slightly so. Generally you want to burn 'em (well zap 'em) down fast, and that means Solitary Thunder, not DoT. Perhaps if fire skills get a boost in Book 7 you could work on a kiting/DoT build, but right now I think lightning is the way to go.

For soloing, your sparky skills and cold skills are your best friends. Slows/Stuns/Quick damage are the best way to go. The Wrath of Flame skills have really long warm-ups, and are best saved for situations where your target is attacking something else, like a tank. A glaring exception is Overflowing Confidence, because it affects all skills.

Have to agree here. Fire doesn't seem that useful fo the fire skills themselves, but you could easily get a few of these slotted while trying to make yourself good at soloing. Master of Connotation (-resist), Linnod of Subtlety (-10% damage threat, +30s duration), and Overflowing Confidence (-20% power costs on all skills for 20 seconds) are all Cleansing Fires and could help while soloing.

I haven't paid any attention to this one yet (in fact I don't think I've even earned it). Apart from an escort quest, how does threat management affect soloing? When bouncing aggro with the Rune of Restoration?

Would it be a good idea or not if I were to only use the healing deeds for my RK?
