    Re: Requests Thread (ABC files)

I'm looking for the song, "A hero comes home" By Alan Silvestri off the Beowulf soundtrack.
As well as, "Gently as she goes", off the same soundtrack

I know the songs exists in ABC format, because I used to have them ages ago before I uninstalled. Now that I'm back playing again I've lost all my old music. They were available on the old Lotro ABC music site (Lotro-music.com, I believe), but that site is no longer up and I am unable to find them on any of the new ones.

Any of you perhaps still have the files?

I will seriously send 1 gold in game if someone transcribes Love Lockdown (album version) by Kanye West.... just the piano part.

I will send an extra gold if someone transcribes all the parts (drums etc).

I am on Elendilmir if you want the gold

It's the only Kanye West song I like.... it's the frick bomb.

Here's the song if you don't have it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2M9YHATH2Q

well doesn't hurt to make a request here:

Cynthia Harrel - I am the Wind.

I really love this song and would love to get an abc of it or at the very least a midi.

I would absolutely LOVE some Stevie Ray Vaughan solo for the lute if possible...Texas Flood and Pride and Joy would be great...just make sure you do it right, this is Stevie Ray Vaughan we're talking about here!

Best I could do with the converter. I had to slow it down a bit to get it to sound okay. Still not quite right, but probably the best we can manage until some talented type feels the urge to hand-compose an abc of it.

I've always thought some of the Betrayal at Krondor music would suit LotRO well.

    Here's a taste of the theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2efo2AiMII

And here you can find the midis for FWEE: http://www.queststudios.com/quest/bak.html
"...I assure you there is a mark on this door - the usual one in the trade, or used to be. Burglar wants a good job, plenty of Excitement and reasonable Reward, that's how it is usually read. You can say Expert Treasure-hunter instead of Burglar if you like. Some of them do. It's all the same to us."

I've actually done a couple of SRVs bits (Pride and Joy and Little Wing). I wanted to put them on the Fat Lute, but it won't let me log on, so I'll put it in the library thread here.

I may try to multi-part it at some point. May sound "cleaner" that way. I'd need someone else to test it, though. I'm not in game often enough to make regular friends to call on to do that.

Ok, I have 4 I'd like to get for the Lute.

Is Your Love Strong Enough - Brian Ferry
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nF3EFuE34o

Loved By The Sun - Tangerine Dream
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40eZA...eature=related

The Wreck of The Edmunds Fitzgerald - Gordon Lightfoot
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX21Lrwk9fY

    It's D&D - Stephen Lynch
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNt9jgRpwLM (Short "The Gamers" Edition)
    and / or
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyxnEKTjhj0 (Long "Live at El Ray" Edition)

Oh, and a shamless plug for my HFHS player, and friend Matt Vancil. Check out "The Gamers" on YouTube, then get the movie from Dead Gentleman Productions. You'll die laughing.

    Sorry, had too.

    Re: Requests Thread (ABC files)

One more time for the new folks on the site here.

It would increase your chances of having a ABC file made of one of your requests if your put a link to a MIDI file of the song. A Youtube link will not help us transposer's too much, other then hearing the song played with real instruments. We really need a MIDI or even sheet music if you can't find a MIDI.

    !!!!!!!!
    CRANBERRYCRANBERRYCRANBERRY!
    <faints from sheer joy>

<wakes up, with a sore bump on head, but ignores it>

Weeeee! I didn't know you looked at threads here or I'da been here buggin' ya long time now!

Thank you for the great works you've already done!

I've got a couple of requests right off!

San Diego-The Tragical (maybe ignore the male vocals, cause the piano and bass riffs, along with the female vocals are really where it's at)

Rakim, by Dead Can Dance ( aka- Manwe and Varda welcome Frodo to Valinor )

    Favored son
    Turn in the garden
    Shades of one
    Sins forgotten
    Favored signs to find hope
    In the rounds of life
    Favored rhymes to find hope
    In the sands of life
    Favored son
    Fence in your heart
    Saviored son
    Sins forgotten...

    Severance, by Dead Can Dance
This is the best YouTube has right now, but it's clipped off at the end...

    Severance...
the birds of leaving call to us
    yet here we stand
endowed with the fear of flight

    Overland...
the winds of change consume the land
    while we remain
in the shadow of summers now past

When all the leaves have fallen
    and turned to dust
    will we remain
    entrenched within our ways?

    Indifference...
the plague what moves throughout this land
    Omen signs
in the shapes of things to come.

Tomorrow's child is the only child
tomorrow's child is the only child

Where to now St.Peter, by Elton John aka The Rez Circle Song

I took myself a blue canoe
And I floated like a leaf.
    Dazzling dancing, half enchanted
    In my merlin sleep.
    Crazy was the feeling,
    Restless were my eyes.
    Insane they took the paddles.
    My arms they paralyzed.

So where to now St. Peter,
If it's true I'm in your hands?
I may not be a Christian,
But I've done all one man can.
I understand I'm on the road
Where all that was is gone.
So where to now St. Peter?
    Show me which road I'm on;
    Which road I'm on.

I took a sweet young foreign gun.
    This lazy life is short.
    Something for nothing always ended
    With a bad report.
    Dirty was the day break,
    Sudden was the change,
In such a silent place is this
    Beyond the riffle range.

So where to now St. Peter,
If it's true I'm in your hands?
I may not be a Christian,
But I've done all one man can.
I understand I'm on the road
Where all that was is gone.
So where to now St. Peter?
    Show me which road I'm on;
    Which road I'm on.

I took myself a blue canoe.

This one is just the end of the song, cause YT won't let you post anything too long.
    Telegraph Road by Dire Straits
(Love how you did Romeo and Juliet! )

Maybe you could figure out some way to do the guitar exfil from Tunnel of Love too?

It would increase your chances of having a ABC file made of one of your requests if your put a link to a MIDI file of the song. A Youtube link will not help us transposer's too much, other then hearing the song played with real instruments. We really need a MIDI or even sheet music if you can't find a MIDI.

    Oh...
Crud! I guess I should'a read a bit more before jumping in. >.<

Well, heres the rub sir. Some of us don't have the MIDI files, nor have we the know how or software to to convert. I also don't know of a MIDI file for the D&D song.

Sorry but YouTube is the best I can do.

Oh and, I did find a copy of Wreck of the Edmonds Fitzgerald.

My post was not meant to dis anyone, but the simple fact is, we can't do anything about making a ABC file without a Midi or sheet music.

Yes, I can spend time looking on the net to find a midi of a requested song, but truth be told it takes a lot of time to make a ABC file properly, even with a program that will merge tracks, I for one don't want to spend that time looking for a midi. If someone really wants a song transposed for themselves, that person should do the ground work and find a Midi for it.

Sorry to say but a youtube of a song is pretty much useless to me.

Again, this post is not meant to discourage anyone from making a request, but as a transposer the less work I have to do to get started on the actual making of the ABC, the better.

I have spent well over a hour looking on the net for midi files of songs that I wanted to transpose, before finding one. Sometimes there just isn't one out there, or the ones that are out there are not very good, and since I don't have the knowledge or software to make a midi myself, the song is never made.
