I completely agree with the OP; well stated.

To me there are three major issues with this game:

    1) Mounted combat. Blizzard proved years ago that players generally dislike vehicle combat...

I have no shortage of tales, but the one that always comes to mind is the amazing session play in the Vol II epic book, We Cannot Get Out. That quest summarizes everything that is Moria to me, and I...

Assuming what you're saying is true, Yula, it just boggles the mind that a large online venture can operate for years without a transaction-proof database. It is not only unacceptable, it is madness....

Oh it's a question with so many answers.. Kind of depends on what you like doing, I guess. :)

I like all classes except one, and here's my reasoning - hopefully it may be of some help. Either...

To me, LotRO is Moria. It was my favourite MMO during the entirety of that expansion, and we had so much fun together in my kinship. Instances were great, and most notably they were 6-mans.. Mirkwood...

The new Bree looks really good. As is often the case, Turbine's world builders are top notch!

What scares me though, is that for some reason, someone in management decided that this is a priority...

Same problem here. I took a swift travel from Thinglad to Stangard and it crashed instantly ("lotroclient.exe has stopped working..")

Bah, just got it going and now I can't get back in. Oh well, I...

Re: Can you play LOTRO on an Ultrabook?

Since most modern netbooks use SSDs, I wouldn't consider running off USB at all. Any SSD is faster, much faster, than anything you connect via USB. :)

    Re: Question about graphics card

Running at 1920x1200 myself, with the ATI 5870. Two of them in fact, but I've disabled Crossfire for LotRO because it's useless. LotRO doesn't run well at all with multiple GPUs so don't bother with...
  10. Re: Give crafters the ability to deconstuct weapons/armor for their raw materials

QFT! This is a bad idea. Sure it would make things easier, but it would also trash the economy. Proven in multiple other games before.

Normally I'm for any improvements to crafting, but in this...

    Re: Update 7 content

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to MoonwalkIntoMordor again.

    Great post man. :)
  12. Re: Development of Current ingame systems (I.e Hobbies etc)

    Indeed, you're so right.

On that note: if they would just stick to what you said and stop adding/changing stuff that nobody wants, now that would be great. Star-lit crystals, yeah.. Way to improve...
  13. Re: Development of Current ingame systems (I.e Hobbies etc)

Couldn't agree more. Turbine, listen to this guy!

You seriously should hire a couple of new developers whose job would be solely to expand and refine the "fluff" in the game. Housing, hobbies,...
  14. Re: What does 23,000 Turbine Points buy? Is it worth $199 USD?

To be honest, I think it's a lousy deal. It seems just a few weeks ago we could pickup 9000-something points for $49.

As for what to spend it on.. Going your choices, I'd rather opt to pick up a...

Re: What's everbodys problem with Moria?

I think it's a bit of oldschool gaming vs modern instant gratification gaming.

Moria is rewarding for the exploring type of player, who likes to take their time and "dissect" a zone so to speak....

    Re: Wow is Lorien boring.

Ohh, listen to this guy. He totally gets it! :) +rep to you!

I'd like to add that Lothlorien has always been an optional zone. When it was new it was level cap material, much the same way...

    Re: THREAT in Update 6.1

Oh, totally agree with that, and that's very important to note. I didn't manage to get that across when talking about "systems". To me a system is the whole shebang, not just me playing a Warden, or...

    Re: THREAT in Update 6.1

Yes, but the problem is that damage dealers generally don't care about such things. The question is: should the game and its systems be designed around a hypothetical model where all players perform...

Re: Defiant Challenge in Update 6.1

One could argue that Conviction in Assailment is our "force taunt for 10 seconds". Not that I like stance dancing, but it can be used for a similar effect, albeit within a small range, and a bit too...
  21. Re: Would Players Use A Loot Toggle That Automatically Rolls or Passes?

Adding an option to automatically Pass on all loot would be very, very welcome. I'm used to this in other games and as you say when running older content sometimes you simply wish to ignore all loot,...

Oh dear, then I must be really immature since I'm playing 3 MMOs.. And many single-player games too. ;)
  23. Re: Most Solo Supportive/Friendly Vocation/Profession?

Tailoring is indeed nice if you play solo, because the guild patterns can provide you with gear that is far better than quest rewards. The same applies to Jeweller, they can make some very nice stuff...

Re: Choosing which horse to use

Why is it that every single time someone references another game, some witty reply like yours shows up?

So, because I and the OP prefer the way WoW deals with mount stats, we should abandon LotRO...
  25. Re: Stable Mounts Issue and Stuttering/Hitching issues

Interesting! Mine was a whopping 11MB, I'm going to remove it and see if that helps. Will report back tomorrow. :)
