  1. Change Captains Crys to Horn blowing

Let's face it, the yelling is *really* hard on the ears. It would be nice if the defeat responses were changed to be a Horn blow instead of the yell.
  2. Re: Kiwis & Aussies, are you playing on Laurelin?

Send us a tell when you're back. I'm another Aussie playing in Laurelin and also in the Iron Axes. If you see my main character around "Tippsie" feel free to send me a tell.

    Re: Minimum Tempo for music

I just realised how stupid this question is. I must have heaps of abc files with tempos under 90. So I guess I should start looking for a long note or something.

    Minimum Tempo for music

    Hi all,

I have an .abc that works fine at tempo Q:96, but when I set the tempo lower (below 90) I get an unhelpful error message (something like "problem with abc file"). The .abc still plays...

Re: Issues with timing and tempo

From looking at the discussion, this seems to be a bug in the way Lotro is reading the tempo.

I haven't tried this out in Lotro yet, but the tempo remained too fast when it was played in...

    Issues with timing and tempo

Apologies if this question has been asked, but I was unable to find an answer by searching this forum.

I'm having trouble understanding what Lotro is doing with the temp of an Abc if I add a time...
  7. Re: Looking for a leveling buddy from the start

It might be a good idea to say what time zone and at what times you usually play. There's North Americans, Europeans and even the odd Australian on this server.

Re: Elven Music Society - Andúnië

'romanticising'!? What is an online Roleplaying world if not romaticising? It seems to me that anyone here is romanticising to some extent and its pretty pointless to throw it around as an...

    Re: Hobbit Character Study

Its an interesting study, and some good thoughts as to how Tolkien viewed the Hobbits (his protagonists, as well as the analog for good english folk)

It does point the way to the basic attributes...

    Re: Female Hobbit Names :(

I suggest you just come up with a name that sounds right. Its not as if there is a *law* stating that all female hobbits must be named after flowers.

Unless that motion was passed by councilwoman...

    Re: [EVENT] Green Dragon Friday

With apologies to all the other races, here are the Lyrics to the "Bounder Marching Tune" sung by Moxsie at the last Green Dragon. Its sung to the tune of Skedaddle (a US civil war tune), coming soon...

    Re: Dwarven Character Study

A nice well balanced article. I very much liked the way you approached it, and also your comment

Amusingly, the main flaw in my Dwarven role playing is that my Dwarf is too nice, at least to...

Totally agree, this thread was created with the intention of condemning other players' behavior. It was never going to be anything other than a flame/troll fest.

    Re: [EVENT] Green Dragon Friday

I think we can do some business. I'm working pretty actively converting some .ABC's including some 'patriotic' songs for Mar Nu Falmar.

I'm going to try and smoothtalk Harbut into doing a duet...

An excellent evening! Even though I have to get up at 5am  to attend this. I will definitely be trying to make it next Friday (or Saturday morning for us Aussies)
  18. Re: Ready to Roleplay: Picking a Race and Looking Approachable

  19. Re: Ready to Roleplay: Picking a Race and Looking Approachable

That's pretty much it. Hobbits are the reliable english middle class of the early 20th century. Tolkien is holding up their attributes of simplicity, reliability and hard work as admirable traits...

    Re: New naming thread

I havent had any trouble with my character names, but I'd like to think that people are being tolerant. We have to remember the difficulties of sticky to strict lore in game.

    In JRR's world there...

110% agree with this. When it comes to online games, you are trying to get a lot of information across with a fairly blunt tool. Complexity and subtlety tend to disappear and often you have to fall...
