    Another Legendary Item noob question

Im doing the quest Forgotten lineage, I have a Legendary sword that is equipped and im using it as a weapon.
The quest wants me to "Slot a setting relic into your weapon to further customize is abilities" I have a relic, but I cant add it to my sword until its identified, I cant identify it because I don't have access to Moria, I cant get further along into Moria until I complete the quest

WHAT is Tolkien's name am I supposed to do???

    please help

Update: I cannot even enter the walls of moria area until I finish this quest

Alrighty. Here's what the LOTRO-WIKI has to say about Legendary Items. Yes, it's a link.

And SoAndSo is correct. You need to travel to Rivendel, to the normal forge in the north, and progress further within the initial Legendary Item quest line there. You go to the Relic Master, you deconstruct the relic to expose whether it is a Setting, Gem, or Rune, you bring up your LI panel (shift+i) and you put the relic into the proper slot. If the relic deconstructed to a Gem, for example, when you bring up the LI panel, you aren't going to see the relic there, until you click on the Gem tab on the right hand side. At that point, you will be shown all the Gem relics you can slot into your LI.

Note - it's either Rivendell or Thorin's Hall, depending on your race! I think Elves and Men go to Rivendell, while Dwarves and Hobbits go to TH. Either way, go to the same set of LI people you talked to to identify the weapon in the first place!

when I try to use either the Forgemaster or the relicmaster in rivendell, I get a message that says "Using that has no effect"

If you have it equipped then its already been identified. You now need to level it up until its ready for a reforge.

Have you completed the epic quest line Volume 2, Book 1, The walls of Moria?

If you have not completed it, then you do not yet have full access to to Forge/Relic Masters.
