Muz showed me up the ropes, Garam straightened me out, and I liked Droggos and Loafys aggresive strat and I gotta give it to Ungo to make me think about stuff. But the Zen master himself gave me the Lakota Warrior inner strength. thank you mr jackson.

i learned from many but he was the one who really pushed me. called me on my ish, and made the effort to teach me to crush my enemies and revel in the glory of their blood shed.

showed me how to break enemies. how to make vital members rage quit the game for the day before their buddies logged in crippling their efforts.

When I started off in the moors, I was a greeny freaver, getting destroyed all the time. Then I saw those Runekeepers, pulling out heavy crits, so I rolled a runekeeper, brought it to 75 and entered the moors. I must say Legona helped me a lot in learning the ways of the rk, and Danania with her awesome blog about rk stats was a real help too! Came back to the moors this summer, hope I can inspire some new RKs and if anyone is in need of tips find me ingame .

Hrm.... I definitely learned how to have fun and how to roll in a group/raid from Shakdursh. (started out in pvmp as a creep)
Learned how to throw fear of dieing out the window from Punnkd (and how to macro my "I'm rezzing you stay put" thingy =P )
Learned how to spar on an LM from Rahb. (indirectly, by watching him)
Learned how to throw tea parties from Gas. =)
Learned how to efficiently farm the various #### on the map for quests as a creep from Pulchra.
In a way I learned how to hate another player from Daec. ^_^ (doubt he even remembers that event from way back when I first started -- long since dropped aside from me being amused to remember it -- hi Daec =D )
Learned how to embrace being in a kinship from Maie. Was very resistant due to some previous experiences before I found Haste via her. =)
Learned how to pull all kinds of little sneaky tricks and tactics from Rahb and Falcon.
Learned how to be a crazy dervish of chaos on my burg from watching Bing. I miss him.

Wouldn't say I had a specific mentor but I've certainly picked up things from just about everyone. =) *salute* I'm sure there's some folk I missed.

im still new but without a doubt.....MR. BLOODLOAF he takes time to babysit us, is our tour guide, and even kiss our booboo´s when the freeps play too rough.....
he gave me my first rush when he took a bunch of us greenies to go pick flowers in the hobbit village....(maybe we were stealing them im not sure)...
of course freeps can smell green from miles away...so along came this mob ready to have their way with fresh creep meat.....(prison style i´m sure).....but they didn´t see the mighty bloodloaf!!!! when the dust cleared....dead freeps littered the area...and we were all still alive!! that moment was intense and exhilarating and intoxicating....and...and....w ow....i reallllly need cold drink right now...whew.....
all in all....please keep up the good work Bloodloaf we really appreicate it

Many Lessons learned. While I can't pin point one person I do owe my addiction to Casinoari and Drendolith. My first introduction to the moors came from Ojisan. However, Bloodloaf was responsible for sparking my desire to hunt hobbits and bears. Svortu showed me the folly of going afk as well.......

A few freeps I miss are definitely Georic, Ojisan, and Sathim. They gave me some amazing fights back in the day and I'd love to test myself against them some time again in the future. As for creeps, I miss Morthil and Cos. Both were great guys whether we were fighting or just talking while there was a lull in the action.

This server is where I got my start in this game, I actually picked Arkenstone, only because it was at the top of the list.

I learned the most, by an extremely HUGE margin from Tyronetheone. I fondly remember the time we were duoing (myself on the hunter), we were heading to HH. Tyrone, with his head on a swivel, something I didn't know how to do at the time saw a few creeps behind us heading to HH as well. After Tyrone and I planted ourselves by the Mayor, those creeps followed us inside.

    A massive battle raged......

I was dead, of course, but Tyrone held his own and blew up those three creeps.

    I was hooked since then.

Webstalker taught me a bunch of stuff on my 2nd day as a freaver, and I guess he deserves recognition for it even though I afterwards took a strong dislike to him. (I don't even remember my name on that 1st char and no doubt he doesn't either)

after that I rolled a BA, and my main inspirations and heroes were the fearless suicidal frontline BA's like krazyhorse/ggrishnak/grishlark (and to a lesser extent youlookyummy and ishotu) who I tried to emulate.

other than that I took a page out of the book of all the people who'd repeatedly lead a charge vs superior numbers (people like tstanon/minibale/corinthianz/muzluks/pugga strongly comes to mind), although there were quite a few, and I'd feel I was offending a bunch of them if I tried to name them all and come up short, so I leave it at that.

and lastly I guess everyone I've 1v1'd, especially the ones who were just a prodigy in their class and repeatedly beat me no matter what I tried, and made everyone else of the same class I faced a pale comparison and easy win.

I haven't pvp'ed much in my LOTRO time, but since January that's pretty much all I do. I finished what I wanted to in pve land. Prior to him taking an extended break, I used to run around with Dandur on my RK, Tsynn. He taught me a lot as did other Riders of Rohan such as Prenthelion and Corinthianz. Since January I have had the LM out there and have to say that Tharros has taught me the most.

A good friend of mine on other mmo. she was amazing healer, was amazing to me, it would inspire me.
Most things I've learned is mistakes.
Mentor was actually my Real Life Cat, his name Tiger.
Tiger had a friend goldfish Harry, but since Goldfish gone, Tiger has decided, a new toy that is biting my toe.
Every time Tiger start attacking my toe ... I start banging on the keyboard ..... especially button press "jump".
More than years ago when I was newbie, Drendolith was first person explanation and guide me about the moors.
Also I meet great players, so I am grateful.

Dude I remember that fight like it was yesterday. Idk if I could say any one person taught me the moors. I rolled a guard out there and the day I saw valsu cc creeps is the day I made my lm. There were many people that helped in my pvp growth and I thank them for that. Riv I do miss you out there. Nice to know you are still playing.

Man, I miss the Moors sometimes.

First person I met was Tharros. I mostly learned from a LM named Saifress and a Champ named Godzephyr. As I got better and started to lead a bit more I learned a lot from Tib and Illth.

I like this thread, wish I had been Moorsing at the time this was made, but I'd like to make a post

I can't remember the name of the person who first introduced me to the moors back when I was a lowly hunter. But I do remember he was an LM and he was in Transcendence (he might have had a hunter alt named Always, or something to that extent). He took me around the moors and although we unfortunately (or fortunately) saw no creeps, I decided to give the moors a shot! It was later on that Theiol taught me how to play my hunter (or rather attempted to, because I don't think I ever got the hang of it...). I ranked her up to 7 then quit, because she was too squishy and I didn't like her, hunter just wasn't my thing.

I recently came back to the moors on my minstrel and started out healing, like a boss, I was self taught. But soloing... Well that's another story. I could stay alive, sometimes, but could never kill anything. Then Orph (yeah, he's actually not that much of a noob, even I was surprised!) helped me out with my legacies and taught me how to dps, because I was (and still am) a complete noob! Now I'm amazing and have surpassed my mentor (Well I was always amazing). No but seriously, I thank him because now I don't fear walking out of GV without a group. Now I have a fighting chance since I know how to dps (and incidentally, I hate to heal now that I have discovered the joy of Minstrel DPS, I blame you Orph.)

Ok, so I confess... I wasn't a self taught healing machine (I know, that's hard to believe). I had help from several minstrels, unbeknownst to most, because I would inspect them and check out their gear and legacies! But Melsaph was definitely the one that helped me the most when I first capped my minstrel during RoI, but that was mainly for PvE. My current PvP healing build is completely different than my PvE build.

Anywho that's my story, sorry for the novel!

This thread is so great. I'm surprised to see my name here, I'm really glad I could help someone out along the way.

For me there are many, one does not simply get to R10 without getting lots of help along the way. Many I have forgotten their names, but those that I can list start with Bloodloaf for leading by example in just about every way. Good skills, good attitude, and I love his play style. Always pushing me to be on top of my game, and reminded me that it was just a game as well. Omani was super nice to me when I was a noob Creep and joined the old Immortals. Never even met them before, but O really went out of the way to help me out and make me feel welcome not just to Immortals but to Creep side in general. Garam, Grush, Ung, Voodoo, Bag are just some of the few Creeps that really pushed me to hone my skills so I could give them good fights.

Many Freeps also led by example, while our paths in the Moors never crossed too often Phoebus is the reason I have a Warden and many of my strategies stem from him. He was the best Warden in my mind, and that pushed me to try and get on his level. The old UTE crew, Vlad, Smog, Odeon, Flav, Kal, Brun, all great players I wanted to try and keep pace with. Love him or hate him Flaky really knew PvP, any class on either side could learn from his ideas and tactics I know I did.

Self-taught and pure awesomeness. I would say most of what I learned was trial and error. And I was inspired by Tamorin's drunkenness to drink heavily while out there as well, which definitely made me a better player. And if not that, at least I used to go drunk a lot and have fun. I don't worry about dying so much as I think more people do. People always seem eager to feed each other points when its a grams/gv farm. BUT, when the craid or fraid is inside a keep - it seems people just hug the keep and no one ever runs inside. So, if you see me charging by myself like an idiot, that's because it's more fun trying to start a push that sitting outside doing nothing or flipping OPs for f's sake. And I think that's a trait I learned from raiding in the moors with Insurrection back at lvl 60/65.

Side note: I used to primarily heal in the moors until the lvl 75 mini changes - so that's probably where I got my good/quick reaction healing from. :-)

Well I was watching Hunterdon play back in MoM and the moors looked kind of fun, so when RoI came out I brought out my noob chump Arthuris and I still have the same amount of skill as back then, none, can't really learn too much champ skills from a hunter but he did teach me about the moors so I can say Hunterdon was my mentor.
