Question Any LGBT friendly kinships on Imladris?

Fairly new to the game and looking to discover what kinships have to offer.

i don't really know why sexual preference should affect one's ability to join a kin, but if your looking for a friendly group of people, who's goal is just to progress through the game together while helping each other out, you should check out Champions of Eriador. We are around 60 active members, not including alts, who craft, skirmish, quest, do instances, hold kin events occasionally, and more. We have a website at http://championsoferiador.guildlaunch.com if you want to check us out.
For role-playing and socializing purposes, a kinship that is lgbt or lgbt friendly helps to avoid having to deal with homophobia and/or prejudice.

In case you were unaware, most gay people prefer the term sexual orientation as opposed to preference. Preference implies a choice and most gay people believe they were born gay.

Thanks for the information on your kinship. I'll check it out.

Don't ask don't tell, how would anyone even know, and like said previous, it is a game I don't see how this matters

It matters because if someone wants to role play and flirt, they should be allowed to do so without fear of insults. It matters because if someone is socializing and chooses to talk about their daily life, they shouldn't have to censor what they say. Don't ask, don't tell was/is a horrible policy for the military and it shouldn't be the informal policy of this game or anywhere in the "real world".

I have seen homophobic comments in the chat window. I play this game to escape the "real world". I know that I can't completely shelter myself from jerks, but I can try to limit how many of them I come across.

There is a LGBT friendly kinship on the Landroval server called Knights of the White Lady.

You can check out their website at http://kwl.guildportal.com.

Thumbs up Re: Any LGBT friendly kinships on Imladris?

Thank you. I just wish I could transfer the character I'm currently playing over there.
When I start a new character, I will do so on that server.

Because there are a lot of immature people who play these games. I'm not gay, but it bothers me to see and hear homophobic comments in chat and vent. I'm sure this fellow wants to be part of a guild that doesn't tolerate homophobic and/or racist comments from its membership. So by LGBT friendly, I believe he's mostly referring to a kinship that doesn't tolerate immature jerks. He doesn't want a kinship where he can't talk about his life out of fear of being ridiculed by the small-minded.

I was in One Percenters, but one of the major members could not restrain his ignorance and racism in the kinship's ventrilo server. It was either the n-word or the f-word (the one that rhymes with bag, I have no problem with the one that rhymes with duck) every other sentence. Since this guy was close friends with the guild leaders, it was accepted behaviour. I left because of that. If you're offended by the n-word (racial) or the f-word (sexual preference), then avoid this kinship at all costs. Ignorance reigns supreme there.

Don't ask don't tell? Seriously? This is the 21st century. Pretty much all western democracies have moved on from that sort of thinking (except America.)

Guys, let's keep this thread on track with the intended topic -- LGBT friendly kinships. Let's not drag in politics or life discussions here. I don't want to remove anyone's posts, but I will if I have to.

Re: Any LGBT friendly kinships on Imladris?

It's my experience that most mature kins really don't care about a person's sexual orientation (at least those kins I've been privy to know), they care more about whether the person is fun to experience the game with. In my gaming history, I've had straight friends, non-straight friends, imaginary friends, real friends, etc. and while I don't believe (I could be wrong) there are any current kinships that are based solely on sexual orientation, there are several that are filled with open minded and fun people. Just check out the many threads in this section of the forum and good luck!!

There's actually a section in the lorebook that has 4 kinships that fit this category.

    Gay or Gay friendly kinships

I play on Windfola server and are looking for a kinship that is either exclusively gay or gay friendly. I have 6 toons, 4 of which are lvl 85. My partner and I are active players and would like to find one. We're both over the age of 20 and are very helpful to other players.

This is the Imladris forum. Are you saying you now play on Windfola and are transferring to Imladris? If so feel free to IM me in game (main toons in signature) to join my kinship as we accept anyone, as long as they're mature. If not, I think you'll have more luck on the Windfola forums. https://www.lotro.com/forums/forumdi...hp?84-Windfola
