Some players who are running on Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit Edition may encounter game performance issues and stability issues
including game crashes under certain conditions. We encourage players to update their Windows Vista installation to at least Service Pack 2 as it contains changes that resolve this issue. More information can be found in the following Microsoft Knowlegebase article:
KB940105. Windows XP and Vista 64-bit users are not affected by the problem.
The following work around will also address the issue, though updating your Windows installation is the preferred method of addressing the issue.
If you are running Vista 32 and have encountered problems please disable the Very High texture detail setting in the Advanced Graphics Option panel.
The problem is most evident on systems with DX10 support enabled and discrete video cards with 512MB or more of on-board memory. Multi-card systems (SLI/Crossfire) may also exhibit this problem due to the way that the OS allocates main memory to the video system.
