Turbine Pumpkin Carving Contest 2009
The votes have been tallied, the pumpkin seeds have been roasted, and the winners of the 2009 Pumpkin Carving Contest have been chosen! We'd like to thank all of our players who participated in this year's contest! Here are your 2009 winners:
1st Place: Figgy's "Pumpkin's Bane"
Durin isn't the only one shaking at the sight of this foe; pumpkins everywhere beware! You can really feel the heat radiating from this Balrog pumpkin!
2nd Place: BIZL's "In the Fires of Mount Doom"
Like the One Ring, look what fire brings to light! It may not have been carved in the fires of Mount Doom, but this pumpkin is one pumpkin...to rule them all!
3rd Place: Tempura's "How to measure a hero?"
An epic battle scene pumpkin that captures the struggle between a hobbit, orcs, spiders, and wargs! (We particularly liked the faces on the spiders!)
4th Place: Adam Paquette/Thaillin's "Balrog"
An artistic interpretation of the infamous, and dangerous, Balrog! Whether depicted in song, script, or pumpkin, these ancient creatures are a frightening sight to behold!
Congratulations to Figgy, BIZL, Tempura, and Thaillin! All three will receive a special forum title. Our 1st place pumpkin winner will additionally be receiving 1,000,000 copper (also known as 10 gold)! There were so many great entries to pick from! We'd like to give an honorable mention to the following pumpkins:
